My New Babies..

...are exactly that. Babies.

The only thing is...I am honestly, seriously considering changing their names to PISSY and SHITTY.

That's all they do. Eat. Drink. Play. Shit and Piss and Sleep (not necessarily in that order). Oh wait, I forgot...WHINE. They do. At least it isn't all night. They sleep most of the night but around 2 or 3 am they start to whine because they want to go out. That's a good thing cause I would prefer that they whine to go out than not and just mess all over.

It's working out really well with Angel here not working. I can go to work and he can stay home with "the babies". He also gets up with them in the middle of the night and sits outside with them while they go. I told him that it's an even trade. I had been the one to get up with Miah and Devyn when they were babies in the middle of the night because I wasn't working at all back then.

I still love them though. They are Awesome.

So here's the family inventory:

3 kids (4 if you count my husband)
2 hamsters
2 puppies
1 gerbil
1 cat

Oh yeah...and 2 parents until Friday.

I'd say I have a house full.

Dom is up to his old tricks again.

I was at work and his Math Teacher called me and told me that he hasn't been doing his work. He got 3 zeros for some work he never turned in (I found the incomplete papers in his binder) and he got a 37 on his 6 week exam.

So....I don't know if any of you remember this post or this one?

We have this agreement that as long as he keeps his grades up and behaves in school that he can dress however he wants and can have his hair as long as he wants.

Once again...

He gets his report card on Thursday.

I am preparing for my return trip to MEXICO this Sat. morning. (Yes, Angel goes with me and is my translator..otherwise I will just be sitting there grinning at everyone and nodding yes to whatever they said). I am making a list of what I want to bring back since I get paid on Friday.

None of it includes Vicoden though...Or Roids..OR Medicinal Mary-Jane...GUYS!

And obviously that boneless girl on Dom's blog IS a little mesmerizing and I'm not just saying that cause I'M A GIRL.

I have been in agony for the past few months.

I went to the dentist when I lived in Corpus and he put a filling in my tooth. He said I needed it. Then, a few days later, my tooth started to hurt when I would drink something cold. It got progressively worse and was at the point were I had to drink EVERYTHING through a straw and even then, if any of the fluid I drank touched that tooth, it hurt like hell. got to the point where regular room temperature liquid was killing me.

Turns out...the dentist drilled too close to the nerve where he put the filling in and it messed me up big time.

Finally. Yesterday. I got it taken care of.

I went to the dentist in Mexico.

I know..I know.

You guys are probably shitting yourselves right now thinking...MEXICO???

Why would you go to MEXICO??

Well...cause it's cheap AND 15 min away from me AND I didn't have to make an appointment AND I could get it done on a Saturday.

$10 for an X-ray
$35 for a temp. filling

BAM! Back on the street drinking Dos Equis with salt and lime within the hour.

Now I'm running around taking advantage of the fact that I can drink anything I want without worry. I do have to go back next week to have a perm filling put in or get it checked out but whatev. I could bring back a bottle if I want.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! my (and Angel's and my grandmother's) birthday isn't until Oct 19th but who cares. I got my present already.

Check it out....

Not one...but TWO Red Doberman Pinchers puppies. Two months old.

They are super cute. We named them Venus and Serena (Angel's idea).

I tried to tell Angel that they were both of our birthday presents but he said "Nuh uh, they are YOUR presents". Which means that he is still on his Bronco kick.

Who cares??? I got new babies!!!

That little "ITEM" Dom has on the bottom of his blog is a little creepy. I'm gonna have to have a little talk with him about it. If you are wondering what it have to click on the girl and drag her out of whatever position she is stuck in and let her fall. She will keep falling until she get's stuck again.

Pickles and Popcorn

Alright people.

The whole thing about the pickles and popcorn isn't as weird as you guys are thinking.
It's simply pickles and popcorn.
Not pickles and popcorn mixed together in a bowl.
Just some pickles and some popcorn.

Basically....when you go to the movie theatres, you buy this stuff at the concession stand. Pickles, popcorn, candy, hot dogs, drinks, slices of pizza..etc

Well since I rarely go to the movies with all of the kids cause it's so damn expensive, we pop popcorn in the microwave.I buy the box of 18 packaged microwave popcorn for like $4 and I buy a huge gallon jar of pickles for $4 and the kids can sit and eat whatever they want.
If we have several movies that we want to see (I usually let the kids each pick out a movie from blockbuster or we watch the new releases that come in the mail), then we do it on a weekend and make a day of it. I will order pizzas, buy 6 packs of different flavored sodas, buy candy and fruits, make popcorn and we all sit on the floor (with all of the snacks on a tablecloth that I buy from the dollar store) and we pig out.
An all day munch-fest.

It's the cheapest and the most economical for me and the kids.

The majority of the time we just have popcorn in a bowl and chunks of pickles in another bowl.

If we do happen to plan to go to the movies (it's ALWAYS the dollar movies...the movies actually cost a dollar) then I will buy the big bucket of popcorn there and sneak in baggies of goodies for all of us. Chopped pickles included.

Nothing weird about it. Just spending quality time with my kids and making memories.

(unfortunately I didn't expect those memories to manifest in Miah's writing...but....) see previous post

Traumatizing Everyone...

I just came across a story that Miah was writing for school and it totally blew my mind.
I was like...HOLY CRAP.

You guys have to read it for yourselves...

This is coming from an 8 yr. old little girl.

She seems fine but I surely didn't know that this movie would be like that.

I know...I know...we should have known better. We did warn her that the movie would be scary and she did tell us "I like scary movies".

Guess she doesn't like them anymore.

My poor baby. She had to write all about it in school.

I feel so ashamed.

Snowball (my big pussy)

Yeah... Yeah ...Jared.
I knew that would get your attention.

When my mother in law moved out and gave us her house, she also gave us Snowball.

She's an awesome outside cat. She's super sweet and she lets the kids drag her around without freaking out and clawing at them in panic. She also likes her belly rubbed.

The funny thing about Snowball is that she is scared of the hamsters. CRAZY SCARED! I discovered this one day when I was wondering what would happen if I decided to make Snowball an inside cat. I was mostly worried about her getting close to the hamsters and making vittles out of them. I placed the hamsters on her and she laid there without a care in the world.

She freaked out and ran out of the room a cat out of hell.

I don't really understand why she's afraid of them. She is after all...a CAT and they are..RODENTS. I thought they were supposed to be chasing them and trying like hell to fit them in their mouths.

Oh well...Truth be told...Snowball is ......a Pussy.

I'm glad that...

1) My kids listen to me and know that 'mommy is the boss' (even when Daddy is here)
2) My kids don't wet the bed anymore (Miah just wandered over to me cause she woke up and had to pee and it's 5:35am)
3) My kids do their homework most of the time without me having to get after them (well, I still have to question DOM about it...sometimes)
4) At least 2 out of 3 of my kids like to read (DOM especially)
5) Angel may be coming to work closer to home (even though he is a big mess maker)
6) I moved the DVR to my bedroom (cause I hate sitting in the living room while the kids are watching cartoon network waiting for my time to watch something)
7) My job is super easy (I am actually working 3-4 hrs out of the whole day for a whole days pay...shhhhh)

There's more glads but that involves lots of foods and naps so we won't be listing those.

Angel took off last night to go visit his Dad and see about starting work again.

But guess what...

Fishing withdrawal.

Sunday, September 21, 2008

So. I told Angel to quit his job over there in El Paso and come home because as I mentioned before...he was getting depressed being away from the family (I actually think it's cause he hasn't gone fishing in so long and he is going through withdrawal).

He has been home cleaning the yard and making sure the stuff around the outside of he house is in order and presentable to the passing public.
On the last post, when he took me to my patient's house, we traveled up this one road that has a couple of broncos for sale. We stopped and looked at them and now he wants one.
We had one before but it kept giving him trouble and breaking down so we ended up giving it to my dad. When we saw it again, after my dad had it for quite a while, it looked like it had been in the demolition derby.

I swear, my dad can make any car look like they just dragged it from the junk yard.

Back to the point...

Angel is now on this bronco kick. He wanted me to get a loan from our back so that he can buy one of the one's we've seen. I didn't do it. He is being impatient and I have to remind him of that. Especially since he isn't working. Yeah, I know. I told him to quit but I didn't say that we will be able to go out and buy him ANOTHER truck just so he can take it to the beach.

Tomorrow he is going to go back to Corpus to visit his dad and possibly go back to work so that he can make some money to buy a bronco. I guess if that is what he wants to do... brings me back to feeling like we have more important priorities that need to be taken care of first....

Goin Muddin...BRB

Yesterday, It was raining...HARD.

I had to go to a patient's house way out in the boonies. I was worried because I knew that the man's driveway was really muddy. They had just recently laid caliche in the driveway so that no one would get stuck (including themselves) while trying to get to the house.

I wasn't sure if my little work car would make it out there and I didn't know if I wanted to take my 4Runner.

Since Angel was here, he offered to drive me out there since he has 4 wheel drive. We were totally bragging to each other about how there's no way we would get stuck.

"Hell Yeah....4 wheel drive, my company should give out 4 wheel drive vehicles for times like these."

Cool. Off we go.

We make it out there and drive straight down the driveway with no problem. I treat my patient while Angel waits in the truck and drinks his coffee. I finish and come out and we are ready to go.

He backs up and positions himself to turn around and GUESS WHAT....?

He drives right off of the caliche onto the grass....which is OVER the septic tank.

We had to call my brother in law to come and pull us out.
Angel and I stood out there in the rain wearing our ponchos and having a good laugh.

Talk about quality time.

It's been a long weekend

Angel has been in El Paso.
He is going to come home tonight. I told him that he was just wasting his time there because he gets sent home and can not complete a full work shift when it rains. Also, they get ahead of schedule and he gets sent home.
He was starting to get depressed and I didn't want that with him being away from home.
He's going to look for work closer to home and his Dad is going to see about getting him work back in Corpus.
He'll be happy in corpus even if it's away from us because he will be able to fish like he likes to.

I went out with my sister in law and her husband on Friday night. We had a good time and the good thing was I was home by 12:30. That's my kind of night.

The next day, The kids and I went to their house because it was my nephew's birthday. We had a good time then too. Drank a few beers, ate some food and conversed. My sister in law is off next weekend so I think we will be doing some hanging out then too. Angel will be here so I KNOW there will be some Q-ing happening.

It's good to be home.

Speaking of home...My parents have come up with a million and one reasons why they can't come and stay at my house every night. They still have a crap-load of junk in their yard and my dad is worried that someone will steal it. WHATEVER!! It's JUNK. He needs to just put a sign on it that says "FOR STEAL".
Honestly,'s scrap metal, bicycle parts, car doors (he doesn't even have the car that goes to the door), lawnmower and weed eater parts, etc. His yard was an exact replica of Sanford and Son's yard.

I spoke to my Aunt in NY and she and my Uncle had a "meeting" about my parents. They decided that when my Mom and Dad go up to NY to visit my brother, they will be moving to North Carolina to stay for good. My Uncle is going to give them a place to live. I'm happy. I love my parents and all but I'm in no position to try to take care of 2 adults when I am trying to get my family life situated. They will be happy there.

I am preparing myself for another week of work. IT'S A BREEZE.

DOM has written another post. Check it out.

My Company Car

So I got it today.....

Wanna see it???

I sent this picture to Angel and he texted me back: Too Fast, Too Furious!

Honestly, just cause it has a spoiler on it. I hate those cars that people fix up with those ridiculous spoilers on them. He thought it was funny as hell.

It's alright. I'll drive it around EVERYDAY cause it's a free company car (of course I have to give it back if I no longer wish to continue my employment with the company).

AND....The company pays me and extra $400 a month on top of my salary for gas.

So I will cruise my little blue car (even though I feel like I am being hijacked by a blueberry) everyday and get paid.

Thank you very much.

Going back to work

Tomorrow. *sigh*

I totally enjoyed my sick days off. Even though I was sick through them. I have some making up to do because the patients that I didn't get to treat get pushed to these next 3 days.

My parents come tomorrow night. In a way I am eager for them to come so that they can be done with all of that packing that they are doing ( and they can get over here and get to work cleaning and doing laundry....hee hee.....kidding) and in another way, I am worried about my privacy.

About my DAD......he is a very stubborn black man. Trying to rationalize with him is like trying to talk to a wall. Getting him to go to the Dr. when something is wrong is very hard. Awhile back, he wasn't doing so good. He has diabetes, congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. I also think that his kidneys are slowly shutting down. One day he was obviously not doing well and my mom was getting ready to fly to NY to visit my brother. I was living in Corpus at the time and couldn't come by and check on him daily. My sister lives in the same town but is pretty unreliable when it comes to these things.

Well, I had to call my brother and tell him that Mom couldn't go unless Dad went too. My brother agreed and said he would set up Dad to see some good Doctors there in NY. Dad decided he didn't need to go anywhere and that he was fine. He was NOT fine. His legs were swelling and he couldn't walk 20 feet without losing his breath.
He started arguing with me and I had to be the voice of reason.

I put my foot down.

I told him that if he didn't go and see the doctors there that I was going to put him in a nursing home. He has military insurance so he has really good coverage and if he wasn't going to use it to get the medical attention that he needs then I will use it for round the clock patient care in a nursing home. I assured him that THAT isn't what he would want. I reminded him that I work(ed) in a nursing home and I see how the patients that get put in them literally just disappear into themselves and become lonely because the family doesn't have time to visit them.

He looked at me and knew I meant business.

A week later he flew to NY.

It was a scare tactic but it worked.

Would I have actually put my Dad in a nursing home? NO, of course not. I had to threaten him because I know how stubborn he is.

I also reminded him that he raised us so we picked up his stubbornness and I wasn't going to budge on my decision.

He's doing much better now.

My parents are only going to be with me for a month because they are flying to NY again to see my brother for a few months.

He's going to hate it here with me. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and I know EXACTLY what he needs to do to help him manage his condition(s).

Before, when I would just visit I would tell him what he needed to do daily and he would just nod and say "okay" but I knew it was going in one ear and out the other.

BUT NOW...he is going to be under MY roof and I can monitor his eating habits and make sure he does what he needs. Plus I have equipment for his daily exercises.

He's not getting out of it so easily this time.

Welcome home, DADDY!

Okay, I got DOM his violin. These people almost pissed me off. They were so confusing when it came to the payment options and plans. I had to ask a million questions to figure out exactly what was going on and how much I was going to pay.

Either way, I got Dom a brand new violin. He's been playing for about 2-3 yrs. His orchestra teacher was excited to get him in class and hear him because he is really good and just needed to be tweaked on his technique.
I think it's a good investment and I would do it for any of my kids.

Miah wants a snake. .............I think we will stick to the hamsters right now.

Monday, September 8, 2008

So I called into work Sunday (to let them know I wouldn't be working today) because I was feeling like crap. I went to bed last night feeling like someone was suffocating me and squeezing my pelvic area. I told Angel that my body felt like I was going into labor all over again.
I had a fever of 101.4 and it was horrible.

Then I looked at the PDA that the company gave me and the screen was cracked. It's a touch-screen and it won't work with the screen being cracked.

*sigh* what else could go wrong.

I got up this morning and took the kids to school, came back and went to sleep. While I was sleeping I heard thunder and rain. I LOVED IT.

I woke up around 12:30 and did some laundry and just hung out for awhile. Cyn came over and we started watching the movie "WIT".
She went and took a nap in my room and I left to go get the kids from school.

I also went to my work to take back the PDA. They took one look at me and grimaced.
Then I opened my mouth and tried to speak and my voice came out strained, squeaky and cracked. They told me not to come back to work until WEDNESDAY.

They also told me that they got me my company car.
On another note:

My parents are going to be moving in with me on Wed for a month.
Now, there is an upside and a downside to this.

1) My laundry will always be done
2) Dinner will always be ready
3) The house will always be clean
4) The yardwork will always be complete
5) I have live-in babysitters

1) My parent's currently don't own a vehicle.
2) Technically, I will be living with my parents (even though they are actually living with me)

Now, I know what you are thinking...
Since you are going to be using a company vehicle, why don't you let them use your 2007 4Runner?

Answer: Uhhhhh..NO!

My mom (bless her heart) has demolished many a vehicle on her mad dashes to bingo.
She will deny it to her grave but I KNOW. I have seen the wave of destruction left after her wake.
No Thanks.

I love my truck and intend to keep it.

The only time I let her drive my truck was when we were moving from Corpus to here and even then..I didn't let her out of my site. Angel was driving the U-haul, I drove his truck and she drove mine.

I am officially a taxi.

Dom (my son) wanted his own blog. I helped him create one. HERE IT IS.

He will be blogging as long as his grades keep up. If you see his blog deleted...'nuff said.
I'm a little curious as to what he has to say.
I did let him know that blogging is not the same as texting and there isn't a bunch of abbreviated crap and that he has to use full sentences, capitalization and punctuation if he wanted to keep his blog site.

Let's see how long this lasts.

Awful Weekend

Angel had gone back to El Paso and hopefully he will be working with the company closer to home within this month.

Dom was sick on Friday so I didn't send him to school and then the school called me asking why he was out and to make sure that he has an excuse when he goes back to school or he wouldn't be allowed back.

So, I had to go and find a Doctor who would see him as a new patient so that we could get an excuse.

Last night my mother in law wanted to keep Miah and Devyn for the night so they could stay the night with their nephew. Dom and I were by ourselves at the house.

Guess what happened...

He had Devyn's hamster in my room (even though I don't want them in my room) and he had it on my bed (that isn't allowed either) and he got up to get the remote and got back on the bed and squashed the poor little thing.

It's dead.

I was so sad.

The poor little dear.

We cried and had trouble sleeping.

Then next day we went to Petsmart and bought another one to replace it (I know..there is no replacing a life) but I was still feeling horrible because there was nothing I could do to help it.

Devyn is 7. We gave him the new hamster and told him what happened and he was still nonchalant.

Also, I am sick.

Feeling pretty crappy. I can't sleep because my throat hurts and I am getting a fever. My nose is runny and it all sucks.

I got some penicillin from my uncle and took some theraflu and hopefully I will make it through the night.

I think I got biofreeze in my eye least on my lower eye lid.

My last patient (err...actually I only had 2 patients to treat today so it's also my 2nd patient) required biofreeze during her treatment to her shoulders.

No problem. That is one of the reasons I carry gloves. I put them on, did the deed and washed my hands afterward.

I'm not so sure of the integrity of these gloves.

Unless, I'm getting a stye.

That could be the case. Why do we get styes?

Ughhhh...Nooooo. I hope I'm not getting one.

The kids and I have been feeling sick lately. I don't know what it is. Is it the house?

Some funky stuff has been going on around here.

This one night, I was making the rounds through the house checking on each of the kids and I noticed that Devyn might be cold. I went into another room and got a blanket for him. I covered him and went back to bed. I was sound asleep so later when I hear Devyn calling out to me about being cold, I thought..what tha fuck?
I got up, went to his room and started feeling around for the blanket I placed on him earlier (the light was off). It wasn't on the bed. Then I started feeling on the floor for it. Not there.
I gave up and told Devyn to cover his eyes cause I was going to turn on the light. When I did, I saw the blanket on a chest far north of his head where he wouldn't have been able to place it.

So that morning, when I woke the kids for school, I asked Dom and Miah about if they had moved the blanket or picked it up from the floor.
They didn't know anything about it.

Anyway. Something creepy is going on in this house.

BTW, I went and picked up the kids from school JUST NOW and went to my grandmother's cause she told me she had food and the kids wanted to see her ....(breathe in/breathe out) and..... my eye started feeling better.

It's not a stye.

Thank God! I googled it and was worried that you guys were going to think I was running around with some disease in my eye. Of course, a stye is not a disease.

But still.....

Must have been biofreeze afterall.

(damn...I think I need to continue my meds)

Business has picked up

Well, at work I finally have more patients.

4 to be exact.

My caseload is still a little low but who can complain.
2 of my patients are husband and wife so they are in the same household.

Angel has come to his senses too.
He is really being nice to me and trying to make me comfortable.
I do believe it's GUILT playing this part because I know he doesn't do this to get what he wants.

He doesn't want to go back to El Paso. I have many reasons to believe that his working away from home is taking it's toll on him and he is not much of a communicator.
He doesn't know how to say what the things are that are bothering him.

He wants to work closer to home.
He is trying to continue to work everyday even though he suffers from a crippling disease (rheumatoid arthritis)
This disease often leads to depression because at his age 31 it shouldn't be this bad (it's advanced)
He was once hospitalized because the inflammation had spread to his lungs resulting in rheumatic lung disease.
His doctors are creating a case study because he is so young to have a disease that often affects elderly people close to their 80s.
He was also hospitalized because he got a blood clot in his left calf and was placed on blood thinners for the rest of his life.
We moved away from his favorite place (the beach) and the kids tell him often how much they miss it.

I know it sounds like I am making excuses for him, and maybe I am, but he isn't usually that shitty. He's the most laid back father I know.
He was obviously holding something in and I happen to have found the trigger.

I love my husband.

He won't be throwing a fit like that again!
