Translation PLEASE!

So, yesterday morning, I was sitting in my kitchen calling my patients to confirm therapy times. My mom and dad were here with me because I had picked them up to stay at the house in case Miah's school called and she needed to be picked up. She hasn't been feeling well and I knew I would be all over the place so I needed someone here to pick her up (the school is around the corner from my house).
Anyway, most of my patients speak spanish and my spanish really isn't all that good. I know enough to get info that I need or relay info about therapy but once they start going on and on thinking that I know spanish...I get lost.

I'm on the phone with a patient.
I'm asking them: "Quieres therapia a las doce?"
Their reply: "No, Quiero therapia mas tarde."
My replay to that: "No puedo porque mas paciones en la tarde."
Their reply: "Oh, se quieres therapia a las doce"

Great, conversation over and we hang up the phone.
Okay...simple enough..right?

My mom is sitting there laughing at me.
My mom is Hispanic so she is fluent in spanish so I could easily just hand her the phone and let her conversate with them. I choose not to do this because I would really like to learn how to communicate with my patients on my own.
I ask her what is so funny.

She translates my convo for me:

Me: Do you want therapy at 12?
Them: No, later on.
Me: I can't because I have more PASSION later.
Them: Oh ok, yes I want therapy at 12.

You see my problem here, folks?

Apparently I confused the spanish word PACIONES with PACIENTES.
Pacientes means patients.
Paciones means passion.

No wonder they were so quick to agree.

Remember These?

I found them at Walmart!!
The kids have never heard of them (or, of course, tasted them) so I HAD to buy all 3 of them. I can't remember which one was my favorite. I think it was Boo Berry.
Either way...I got 'em.
I had to eat them with my lactose free milk cause I'm lactose intolerant (when did that happen?).
I can't remember if they actually taste the same as before.
It's a blast from the past. Who can beat that?

I seem to be the only one playing this game:

I got BOO'd!!! I love it.

Drama Mama from Drama Pond Boo'd me!

Check it out!!

So this is what you do!!

Go to as many people as you want and "Boo" them.

Tell those people that they've been Boo'd

Take the pic and put it on your sidebar.

Link back to the person who Boo'd you.

That's it. Super Cool!

Thanks Drama Mama!!

I like Halloween as much as the next person.

I like to dress up (or rather, dress my kids up) and get free candy as much as they do.

The only thing I'm not that big on is decorating my house for Halloween. I used to go all out at one time with the fake spiderweb stretched all over the house, lights ...even yard decorations.

I just have a few trinkets here and there.

This year..something simple. Since I have the house (and not a small apartment) I really want to save all of the major decorating for Christmas.

I will always carve a pumpkin though.

Last year's pumpkin:

This year's pumpkin:

Yes.....It HAD to be a skull!!!

Yes...I used a template...what? I'm not an artist so I can't do one freehand but the kids love them anyway.
I'm considering doing a few more and putting them on display.

Big Plans for Tattoo

So you all know that I have a new edition to the household.

This kitty is super cute. She loves to sleep with me. She loves to play and she's super lovable.

Then thing is....Everyone in this house is here for a purpose.

My kids are here for manual labor. They were age appropriate as soon as they could talk. They clean the house.

The hamsters are here to keep the kids occupied so that they don't constantly keep calling out to me when they are bored.

Venus and Serena are being trained as guard dogs to protect our property and our persons.

Tattoo....since she is a very quick learner and potty training cats is NO WHERE near as hard (or messy) as potty training dogs...

I have big plans for her.

She will become part of the of the protection crew.

She's already in training.

Today's Gas prices! It's getting better folks! (for now)

Scary Experience

Just in time for Halloween. I sure hope that this is the only scare I get for a loooong time.

Last week Friday, I was sent to a patient's house to provide treatment. This patient was new so I have never treated him before. I am used to treating elderly people so when I saw this patient I was a little thrown off. This man was in his 40's nearing his 50's.
I get to the patient's house and he lets me in. There was already a lady there trying to get some paperwork completed. Once he saw me he immediately started insisting to the other lady that he couldn't finish the paperwork right now and he continuously told her that he "really needed to do his exercises". I tried to tell the lady that I could come back a little later so that she could finish up but he interrupted and started ushering her out of his house.

Once she was gone, we sat at the kitchen table and I mentioned about how he really wanted her out of there. He explained that she had been there a couple of times before but they were always interrupted and she couldn't finish her paperwork. I told him that we could call her back and they could get the paperwork out of the way but he just waved that idea off.

I started by telling him, "So, tell me what's going on and what would you like me to help you with?"
He looked at me and then started telling me about how he has problems controlling his anger and that he was taking anger management classes. He started showing me the paperwork. Then he continued to tell me about how he was having problems with his marriage and how he has been married for 2 yrs now but his wife only comes over at noon and leaves before 9pm. She doesn't even stay the night with him. (RED FLAG) Was this supposed to be a hint?

THEN, he starts telling me about how he has sexual issues and that he was always at the strip clubs.

As he was telling me all of this I was just sitting at the table wondering WHY he was telling me this. I was only there to provide rehab in the form of exercises, balance activities and gait training.
He started wiping his forehead and saying how hot it was in there and then he gets up and turns on the A/C. He comes back and starts GLARING at me from across the table. I got an eerie chill that went down my spine.

I'm getting some really bad vibes from him and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable. Every time I look down at my paper to write something and then look back up at him, I notice that he is looking at me up and down as if he were undressing me with his eyes.

I'm guessing he's thinking that his home has turned into his own personal strip joint.

I needed to get his blood pressure and pulse so I had to get close enough to him. He was sitting in a chair and I had to kneel next to him and I could see and feel him leaning close and trying to look down my scrub top.

I was getting really nervous, but I was a little afraid to say anything because I didn't know if I would say or do anything that might set off his anger problem.
He kept leaving the room and coming back and every time he did that I was afraid that he was going to sneak up on me and bash me over the head with something.
I was really starting to get scared.
He wouldn't stop looking at me.

We were halfway through his therapy and I mentioned that we needed to do some gait training with he walker. He got it out of the closet and I noticed that the handles were a little too high for him. I needed to adjust them. I got the walker and started adjusting it when he started inching himself closer and closer. I swear he could probably hear my heart. He had to have been able to because I could feel his breath on my neck. It wasn't like he was blowing out candles.

And get out of my personal space you freak!

I started backing away and discreetly trying to maintain some distance between us. And his facial expression started to change.

I honestly started wondering if I were going to make it out of this guys house alive. I started looking for the exits. I told him that we were going to walk outside for fresh air.
Once outside I started looking for witnesses and waving at them so that SOMEONE would know that I was there.

I completed the therapy and got out of there as fast as I could. I didn't look back.
I had parked my car facing away from his house so when I got in and looked in my rear view mirror.....and he was peering at me through his window.

I drove straight to my office and told them that I WAS NOT going back there. That was fine with them. They reassigned that patient to someone else (a male) and that was that.

I called my supervising PT and told him about what happened. He said I made a good call. He didn't get that vibe from him. But he did notice that his attitude changed to being agitated when the PT told him that he wasn't going to be giving him a massage to ease his pain and that he was going to need to be doing some exercises for strengthening. He said that the patient got mad and told him that he WAS NOT going to be doing any exercises.

(But there he was ushering the other lady out of the house telling her he really needed to do his exercises when I got there)

Honestly people, I know it doesn't sound scary on paper but I was definitely getting a deranged serial killer vibe from this person. I don't ever underestimate any one's mental instability. You never know what is going on in some one's mind. I am constantly in someone else's house...alone with that person and there is always a risk involved.

Now, had this been an elderly man who was simply a perv....I could've taken him.

Jared's Right.

I AM starting a zoo.

Not intentionally, though.

I already had the 2 hamsters and the gerbil when I moved to this house. We promised the kids that we would get dogs when we did because we used to live in an apartment that didn't allow cats or dogs. We also promised Miah that she could get a cat here too. (Snowball didn't count because she was "left" here).

The current house occupant list:
1 husband
3 kids
3 rodents
2 dogs ("with a worm farm" says Jared)
1 (outside) cat
and 1 new kitten.

She's the one in the back saying "WHAT'S UP!"

She's Miah's kitten. Her birthday is coming up and Miah is the best little girl in the world. (She would have to be to put up with 2 brothers).

The dogs have been outside since their little infestation of worms. Yes people...they still are my babies....just "outside" babies right now.

This part is for MOE!

He wrote a post about saving money. It was a really great post with excellent tips. (Thanks MOE).

Here's how I saved money.

As you know, on my birthday, my water heater broke and we had to buy another one. That wasn't the only problem. The pipes in this house were sooo old. They were galvanized pipes and they were completely clogged. My father-in-law called my uncle and he came over with a friend.

This friend of his knew how to replace the pipes.

That's what he did!

He replaced all of the pipes in the house so now we have excellent water flow throughout the entire house.

Guess how much all of this costs?

$150.00 (not including the price of the water heater).

This man spent 3 days replacing pipes and that is all he charged. helpful tip for saving money...marry into a family of construction workers who have friends with plumbing experience. (Also, Uncle Benny is a cool is that!!)

Today is my birthday!

It's also Angel's.

I'm not ashamed to say that I am 36 years old and Angel is 32.

He is still the man he was when I met him at his tender age of 21 (at least he could buy me beer).

The only difference is that we have children and he drinks less....A LOT less. He still cares and loves me very much, maybe even more now, and I feel like he is more appreciative. I know I can't imagine my life without him.

We celebrated last night with my grandmother at her house (it's her birthday too) by having a BBQ. There were 3 cakes. One was a super chocolate cake...mmmm. Another was made by my mother in was an orange cake with homemade orange frosting and the last was made by our cousin Amy. It was Angel food cake with homemade whipped cream frosting, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries all over it. They were all delicious.

Today, we slept in and then got the kids ready to go have lunch together as a family. We went to Golden Corral Buffet.

We got back home and I took a nap (I actually ate myself into a food coma) and then I hear Angel and our Uncle Benny (along with another man I never met) banging on some pipes in the hall. Apparently our water heater was on the fritz and all the pipes were clogged. Water was all over the hall. They had to take it out, put in new pipes and we had to purchase a new water heater. There goes $500. Looks like that is our birthday present. At least now we may be able to take hot showers.

Since we inherited this house....we knew it was going to be a project. We knew the water pressure was very low and that we were going to have problems with the plumbing...of course...not like THIS!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA IMELDA! many of you can buy 5 gallons of water for .75? Each gallon here is .15.

I don't know if you can see it...The sign on top says the price of gas is $2.15. Of course, with the free card..gas is $2.12.

P.S. I was the previous post.

I've been Tagged....

I'VE BEEN TAGGED BY....TA DA....... THE NICE ONE OVER AT Even The Nice Ones.....

Let me see...7 random facts ...or would you prefer weird? Either's gonna be 7 bits of info about me whether you like it or not.
1. I miss my husband when he is gone. Truly miss him. BUT...when he comes home. I prefer to sleep in my bed alone. He gets in and cocoons himself with my covers. When we first met. I would get up 2 or 3 times a night to stand up at the head of the bed and straighten out the covers so that I could sleep comfortably. I can't sleep when my blankets are messed up. When I sleep in the bed covers are perfect all through the night. Neurotic much? Maybe. Definitely happy though.

2. I am EXACTLY 4 years older than my husband. I rub it in his face constantly that SENIORITY RULES!!! I call him "Little Man" or "Youngsta". When we are shopping somewhere together and he sees something he likes, I ask him "You want mamma to buy that for you, baby?" He gets embarrassed but I love it!

3. I'm allergic to shellfish. Shrimp and Crab legs specifically. I didn't always used to be but now I am. At least when I wasn't...I tore it up! I ate the crap out of it. Red Lobster's endless bucket of shrimp or crab legs was my favorite. Then I had more kids and I down graded to the all you can eat shrimp and crab legs from the Chinese buffets. THEN...I down graded again to ...nothing. Poor Dom...he recently started sharing my allergies to shellfish.

4. I'm a super homebody. I don't really like to go anywhere unless I HAVE to. My favorite past time is staying home and catching up on my DVR'd shows (preferably in bed). Oh wait, NO...I'm lying. GROUP NAP is my favorite past time. Snatching up all the kids from their hiding places (because once I say "GROUP NAP" the kids scatter) and gathering them to take a nap with me is the best. It eliminates me worrying about what they are doing while I'm sleeping.

Of course, I have sneaky kids and they are good at slithering off the bed without waking me. When I wake up, they are gone.

5. I love the rain. I love to sit in the rain. I love to watch movies and sleep in the rain. Nuff said about that.

6. I love to watch the UFC with Angel. We order the pay per view fights (which really isn't worth it unless we have more people to chip in and help pay for it but whatever...we still watch it together). Another something Angel and I have in common.
This last one is true and I know Dom is going to have some questions for me but I am prepared. Maybe it will answer a lot of questions about my paranoia to strangers and my over protectiveness of my children.
7. When I was younger (around 7 or 8 yrs old) I took a ride with a pedophile. Of course I didn't know that at the time but now that I am older, thinking's true. My mom had left us at a house (I'm not sure how well she knew these people) so that she could go either to bingo or to a night club. There was a little girl there around my age (I don't even remember her name). Her job was to ride with this man on some kind of route (I think he delivered papers of some sort). I went with them one time and while we were cruising, he said something to her and then he unzipped his pants and she put her hand on his (you know what). I was sitting in the backseat and I looked over the seat and saw what she was doing. He asked me if I wanted to do it too cause we get ice cream if we do. I didn't. I felt uncomfortable because I knew it was wrong. Of course we had the whole conversation about not telling anyone and I would still get ice cream.
I got ice cream and I never told anyone.
Now I know how easily children can be influenced and manipulated. I don't know whatever happened to that girl and to this day...I never told anyone.
I'm supposed to tag 7 people but instead of listing them...anyone who is following me...if you have the chance...I would like to know a little more about you.

I'm gonna get to it...

I was tagged by The Nice One over at Even Then Nice Ones.

The thing is...I'm still trying to think of 7 things about me that isn't complete bullshit.

I will do it...I promise.

Right always..a little more face rubbing...(does that sound right) or rubbing it in your face? Yeah, that sounds better...

Either way......

I got a little pissed off today.
I filled up my company car earlier today at this price. How cool is that???

What pissed me off was that, later this evening, I drove by the same gas station and this was the price:

Couldn't they have changed that shit earlier? You know..when I was putting gas earlier today?

Dom was cracking up at the fact that they have Hygea 1 gallon milk listed at $399 instead of at least spacing it out to make it look like $3.99.

Only in Mexicanville, I guess.

Need rest...NOW!

Alright. I am officially exhausted.

I know I've said that before but here's why...

2 nights ago, my brother calls me (while I'm asleep) and asks me if I think I would be able to purchase an Elmo Live doll.

For those of you who don't know what that here.

Did you click on it? Did you see it? Cause the first thing that came to my mind was OH HELL NO!!

Apparently it is supposed to be all the rage and people will be stomping all over each other in the department stores (like they did with the Tickle Me Elmo doll) trying to purchase this creepy ass doll. I, on the other hand, have never even heard of it before my brother called me and mentioned it. He said that they were trying to purchase it online but it has been sold out since August and may be on back order. He is dying to get it for his daughter (who, I found out through my sister in law, has the Tickle Me Elmo doll and is STILL warming up to it).

They dolls went on sale today so I knew that no one was going to be trying to run me over in Walmart at midnight to get this doll. I called and they said they had it in stock they just haven't taken it out of the boxes yet. I got there at midnight, the lady cut the cellophane, cut open a box and handed me one of the dolls.

Just like that. I beat the crazy rush. (if there was even going to be one).

So now I get home feeling good that my brother won't be worried about not getting a doll.

I get a call early in the morning and it's him (my brother) telling me that he just got out of work and he went into a nearby Kmart and there were a few people there carrying armloads of the doll and he managed to get one of the 2 that were left on the shelf.

Well...anyone interested in a creepy ass Elmo Live doll? I'm not to keen on having this thing in my counter and I'm a little worried about walking by it at night for fear of it busting out in song and dance. You all know what I'm talking about. I'm sure those of you with kids have all had SOME kind of doll that used batteries and when the batteries started wearing down the voice or movement of the doll was almost devil-like. NOT HERE PEOPLE.

Someone wants this doll! I know it!
Another reason why I'm soooo tired is because some of the parents and I got together to have an unscheduled soccer practice with the kids today. I was out there running my butt off and practicing with the kids when I KNEW I should have stretched beforehand. (we all know what we are supposed to do but do we ever do it??? NOOO)

My legs are sore and my butt hurts. That is exactly what I get.

I don't care. I got to see Devyn in rare form and the more practice he gets the better he is getting. It's all worth it.

On a side note...I like reading blog entries from The Bloggess. She's funny as hell. She also linked to another funny blogger that I am just now starting and I can't help but try not to pee my pants. Check him out too. His blog is called The Sneeze but what really got me were these posts!

Now, before I hit the bed...just a little more incentive to get people to come and visit me, you know....if you want.....

Got Gas?

I do!!!

Well, not THAT kind of gas.

Come and get it!!

Vacation Hot Spots.

My best friend Jenn is going to go and visit this guy she is dating who is in the military. He's in England. (Yeah, I know I said she is a lesbian...she's actually BI. She has a 13 yr old daughter).

Anyway. She was asking me about places to go while she was there and he was at work.
Uhhhh...How should I know? I don't frequent England.

The only thing I could come up with was for her to watch HOSTEL and AN AMERICAN WAREWOLF IN LONDON.

I hope it helps.

It's Saturday Night...

Do you know where your kids are?

Hell Yeah! Mine are in bed!!

Let's start with a small recap of my last 2 days.

I went to work and found out my caseload has been dropped to 5 patients total. Some partly because they have met their physical therapy goals and a couple because their Doctor never approved PT for them in the first place and there was a misunderstanding.
Whatever, you think I'm complaining? NOPE. I still get paid for a full day (everyday) either way.
So Monday, I have 2 patients to

After work I picked up the kids and took Miah over to my parents so that she can stay the night because she has been begging to stay the night. I get there and my mom tells my dad to close the house door because she had just turned on the A/C. He is standing 5 feet away from the door piddling with his keys and he looks up at here and yells "JUST FUCKING WAIT A MINUTE DOT!"

I look at my mom and then ask my dad "what's wrong?"

(input the sounds of brakes screeching here)

At this point we got into an argument because there was absolutely no reason for him to be yelling at me for..well..nothing really. This was obviously a time where he needed to be reminded about the phrase: Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

What I mean by that is...I do a crap load for my parents. I am the only one who really comes through and does things for them, provides for them and I am basically the one who cares for them. I take them wherever they need to go and I was mainly the one who helped them move all of their crap from one place to another. (with the exception of my brother in law who I had to call for help). Other than than. It's all me.
My Dad had the nerve to tell me one day that he is blessed with great friends.

Where are these great friends when he needed them?

Why didn't he say he was blessed with great family.

Whatever. The point is. He bitched at me for absolutely nothing and I wasn't going to put up with it.
I will not be return to helping my parents (my dad) for anything else until he apologizes. And being the stubborn black man that he could take awhile.

After that whole situation happened I proceeded to take Devyn to soccer practice. (he is getting so good). They practice for 2 1/2 hrs and the parents are there complaining because they want to leave already. I mentioned to one of the parents that I will stay as long as I need to so that Devyn gets the practice that he needs. If the coaches are willing to stay...I'll stay.

Angel was on his way home from Corpus and he came with about 45 min left of practice to see Devyn. He looks so proud when he watches him. It's very rare that he gets to see the kids in their sports because he is always sent away with the company to work in another city or another state. I'm so happy that he is here.

Maybe I spoke too soon. (about being happy Angel is here)

I just wanted to lounge this weekend and watch movies and do nothing but Angel was up talking about cleaning house and straightening out the yard and doing this and that.....blah blah blah.

Either way, we got to work. I cleaned Devyn's and Miah's room. He organized the kitchen and outside. Dom cleaned his own room and helped outside all the while talking on the phone (apparently he has a girlfriend).

We got a lot done and Angels mom called to say that she was picking up the kids. She decided to take them to Peter Piper Pizza and Angel and I decided to tag along (cause we love their pizza ....well, I do).

Then we came back and realized my washer was not working and called a man down the street and he came over and fixed it really quick (quickest 60 bucks anyone could make).

We practiced some soccer moves with Devyn such as hitting the ball with his head and stopping it with his chest. He is going to be AWESOME! (Angel still says I baby him...whatev.)

Now, the kids are in bed and he and I are drinking some beers and watching some UFC fights on Spike TV. The fact that he chose to stay home with me, despite his cousins calling him constantly to come over and hang out and drink some beers with them, mean a lot to me. Of course...I"m so frickin tired, I just want to hit the fucking hay instead, but, I'll spend some quality drinking time with him.

Next week is our birthday. I am constantly reminding myself not to expect a present from him because I already have SHITTY AND PISSY.
At least I won't have to worry about times like

At least tomorrow I won't have to worry about housework. YAY!

I did it!

I kept my promise and ran with Devyn during his practice.
It felt really good and my body was asking for some type of exercise. I was a little out of breath from the running but I didn't stop. I'm just so tired now cause it all must be catching up with me and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

...and it just keeps getting better.

I have been up since 4 am.

Why you ask?

Let me tell you...

My precious little angels need to be taken outside to do their business nightly. So I get up without complaining and take them out. I had brought them back in and I noticed one of the dogs doing something.

Now if you guys are easily grossed out then stop reading NOW and proceed to the bottom of the page to the next picture.

Now before I tell you what happened, I'm going to show you who DID IT.

Alright, now that I called her out, let me get on with the story.

Venus came in the house and started dragging her butt across my floor. When I say dragging, I mean literally DRAGGING. I froze in my tracks. This obviously wasn't one of those funniest home video moments cause I was not running to get my camera. She stopped dragging and walked away and LEFT SOMETHING BEHIND.

Holy Crap. It was a little white worm. And it was moving!

Granted, it was the size of a grain of was still menacing.

That totally made me gag. I grabbed the dogs (yes both of them) and threw them back outside. I walked around the house looking for that dog worm medicine I bought and was putting off giving it to them. I couldn't find it anywhere. Around 4:45 I decided to call my mom. I was persistent. She didn't know where it was either. I texted Angel and he called me back at 5 and he didn't know where it was.

UGHHH....No one ever knows where anything is in this family!!!

I looked online to see if my walmart was 24hrs. NOPE.

I left the dogs outside because they were NOT coming back in here. They normally sleep in my closet in a basket but due to the current situation, their accommodations were temporarily relocated. OUTSIDE.

I took the kids to school and at 8 am went straight to walmart as soon as they opened and got them some more medicine.

I sure wish Angel was here with me he can do all of this instead of me.

For any of you who would like to come and visit...maybe even go for a cruise...feel free. You might be able to afford it here.

I filled up my company car this morning and this was the price. I got it even cheaper because if you ask for a walmart gift card (which they give you free) and put money on that card to use at the pump, you get an extra 3 cents off each a gallon.

So I put gas for $2.81 today.

I'm considering not putting any gas for a while to see how low it will get, but then with my luck I might miss all of my opportunities once the prices start going up again.

Devyn has soccer practice today. I hope I can keep my promise and run that mile with him today.....we'll see.

Exhausted.....need to exhale.

Well, I've had an eventful weekend.

I'm super exhausted. I actually had to drag my ass out of bed right now just to post.

Where to begin....

I worked then came home and ran some errands with my parents to help them get everything together so that they can move into their new place (any place that isn't my place is THEIR new place).

Oh yeah, let's not forget the whole toilet installing part of the day.

Angel was in Corpus, so as a favor, he brought my best friend Jenn back with him so she could come and hang out with me for the weekend. Her birthday was on the 1st and mine (and Angel's and our grandmother's) is on the 19th. They showed up around 8pm or so. He took off to his cousins house and she and I went to get drinks so that we could come back and start our marathon of HEROES season 2.

What do you think??? What should we get??

That's Jenn in the pic.

We passed out around 1:30am. That was the best we could do.

Devyn had his first real soccer practice that morning. I was supposed to go to Mexico for my follow-up at the dentist there but when his coach said that they were having practice at 9 am. I went ahead and put my visit on hold until later that after noon.

FYI: If any of you want to put your kids in soccer...bring them to the valley. The Mexican coaches here are hardcore. They have a hell of a conditioning program. Angel was in love with it.

We get to soccer practice and as soon as we get out of the car, the kids are running. We barely even parked and they were running 1 mile. Then they got started on all of the drills. More running.

I is RUNNING and it is crazy cause these are 7, 8 and 9 yr olds and they have practice for 3 hrs that mainly consists of running. Poor Devyn. He was sooooo worn out but he never gave up. He still wants to continue.

I told him that I will run that mile with him at every practice.

I hope I don't lie.

THEN..Nearing the end of that practice Angel tells me that his leg is bothering him right between his calf and his ankle. He is familiar with this pain and is thinking he might have to go to the hospital. He thinks it's another blood clot. Last time he got one (two in each leg) he was hospitalized because of it and we didn't know how close to death he actually was because if it had dislodged and traveled through his veins into is lungs..he would have died instantly.

Much like this poor guy, Matt. <---there are 2 links really should read both.

We now know that Angel has a blood disorder and his blood clots easily so he is on blood thinners for the rest of his life.

We went to the hospital and my friend Jenn stayed at the house with the kids. Angel was triaged and sent into a room to wait for the nurses and doctor to come and see him. I stayed with him the whole time.

The nurse came in to draw his blood and guess what she had on her little cart?

Okay...just look then...

Tada! Skulls! HA!

We hung out for a little while longer and then another person came in with the Doppler to check out his veins for any clots.

We got lucky. There were none.

Angel needs to stay off of his feet more. Okay...3 hrs after we arrived at the hospital, we were home. Angel crawled into the bed and crashed until the next day. Jenn and I hung out at my house with a couple of other girls and drank, pigged out and watched movies. Then my mom and dad showed up (mom was at bingo, of course, and Dad was at some bar...even though he doesn't drink or smoke..weirdo). I practically had to usher my dad out of the room because we were 4 women who just wanted to enjoy a movie with drinks and my dad was wanting to get on the computer and play checkers RIGHT NEXT TO THE TV. He kept saying "I ain't gonna bother nobody". UH...NO!

Finally we decided to call it a night. Jenn said she wanted to sleep on the floor (on a mattress) with the puppies.

HA HA HA HA....okay....

Jen has really pretty spirally curly hair see... (she's the one on the left)

The dogs LOVED that. They were snapping at her head and pulling on her curls with their teeth and jerking their heads back and forth while tugging. She was all curled up on the floor trying to pull her hair back to her head and letting out these little cries for help and I was on my bed peering over the side laughing my ass off.

HEY! She said she wanted to sleep with the dogs.

They did finally settle down and sleep with her, but that shit was hilarious. I even woke Angel up to tell him about it.

I swear, my mom can think of EVERYTHING for me to go to the store for. I was running errands most of the morning and get this....I still had to drive Jenn back to Corpus (2.5 hrs away) and come back the same day. I ran the errands and took Jenn back, got out at her house, said hello to everyone and got right back into the truck and drove back home. I was home by 7:30 pm.

Angel got a call from his Dad that they needed him to start work in Corpus the next day which meant that he was going to have to drive to corpus at 3am in order to start work on time. UGHH.

I ended up having to cancel all of my patients for today and reschedule them for Tuesday. Angel took my truck to work and left me with his because I needed to help my parents move all of their junk (it really is junk) from their storage into the new place that they are moving into. I also had to pull a trailer full of their junk in the process. I'm not the trailer puller. Angel is the trailer puller.

I had to do it. ALL DAY. We started at 9 am and didn't finish until 6pm.

At least I got my house back and my bed to myself without Angel being there to cocoon himself with my perfectly laid out blankets.

No..not that one....THIS:

Wait, not that one either....

That's right baby! I put gas for $2.87.

Wacha got?

P.S. Dom has another new post up. 2 actually.

Don't let my good looks fool you.

For the past few days, I didn't really have anything to blog about. I didn't want to keep blogging about my "babies" because you would all get bored of me talking about them (even though they are really pretty much potty trained and they know how to "sit", "stay" and "go lay down".

They are friggin awesome!

Well, yesterday, my Dad gave me a good reason to write.

See, people...I can do A LOT of things (courtesy of my dad). I can work on cars..changing my own oil, spark plugs, tires, thermostats and axles <--- I've actually done that one a few times. The one thing I didn't KNOW I could do was install a toilet. Here's what happened.... When I (and everyone else) are going to be leaving the house and the house is empty, I put the dogs in the restroom (for obvious reasons). I clear the floor and remove anything that the dogs can chew up. The one important thing I do is put a 10 lb weight on the toilet seat so that they can't stick their noses in and lift the seat to drink water all day and piss all over the restroom. Well, my Dad came home from running his errands and I had let the dogs out of the restroom. He went to use the restroom and lifted the weight from the toilet and accidentally dropped it. (He is getting weaker in his age). It landed right between the tank and the seat. I was in my room and I heard a "thunk" but I didn't think anything of it. I figured he just dropped the weight on the floor. Then I hear him shuffling around. I hear this knock on my door and he asked for the mop. I got up and he started explaining what had happened. I went to look and knew instantly that we were going to need a new toilet.
The bowl was cracked and when you flushed, water just poured out onto the floor. DAMN!

I went online to look up the prices for a new toilet.
Too much.

I had to call Angel because he was in Corpus getting his arthritis medicine. I told him what happened and he reminded me that there was another toilet in our shed. I went and looked at it because I was thinking "who am I going to get to come over and change this for me?"

I started examining it looking at what all needed to be disconnected before it could be transported from one place to another. I started unhooking this and that and once I got started...I couldn't stop.

The only thing is...this is during my lunch break. So I ended up have to clean up and change my scrubs and go back to work. When I finished work I changed into some "work clothes" and got to it.
I did it people. All by my lonesome.

I had to carry each of them to their new places. The cracked one I put outside so that Angel can get rid of it when he comes home.

Question: Does anyone know how much a toilet weighs???

Answer: A whole hell of a lot!

Angel was gone (he wouldn't have been able to do much anyway besides bark orders at me because of his arthritis), my Dad couldn't help much (he WAS there to bark orders) because he has Congestive Heart Failure and would get out of breath just bending down and my mom was keeping the kids (and dogs) at away.

This is not the highlight of my life, but it sure feels good to know I spent a total of $10 (for parts) on this whole project. Maybe I should call Mike Rowe and tell him about my DIRTY JOB.

(pay no attention to the floor, keep in mind that my mother in law gave us this house so it is still a work in progress...guess I'll be putting in new tiles too)

So I can add UNINSTALLING and INSTALLING a toilet to my list of many skills.

I can honestly say....I am the SH!T!

P.S. Dom posted a little about it too.
