Uh,
No.
Not that kind of grass.
I swear, you people....
My yard has been looking like CRAP. I hate doing yard work. I like to leave the yard work to the guys. My dad did make us cut the grass when we were younger but now that I'm a parent/spouse, I like to leave it to the men in the family.
Also, this heat has been killer. It's been in the 100s for weeks straight. Nothing is growing around here. Good thing these orange groves have good irrigation.
ANYWAY, back to the point.
My yard is dreadful. The dogs have trampled it to hell.
Angel and I decided to isolate a part of the yard (which means install a fence, ughhh) so that we can actually try to grow some grass and have a decent place to sit outside. One of the main reasons for isolation?
DOG SHIT!
Dom's job is to pick up the poop everyday (since he doesn't do anything all day) and make sure the yard looks presentable.
NOPE!
It's like trying to avoid land mines out there. I guess one of the pros about this heat (and believe me, there aren't many) is that when the shit is on the ground, the sun automatically dries it up and turns it into that white powdery looking shit.
Cool.
Now it'll just blow right off the bottom of my shoe with a gust of wind instead of sticking on it in a mushy, stinky....well, you get the point.
Today is yard work day. We went to Home Depot yesterday and got a new water hose, 2 sprinklers, some grass seeds, fertilizer (we don't even know if it's the right type) a seed spreader, a metal rake and Reese"s Peanut Butter Cups <----his. We're going to see if we can grow some grass.
This is what the yard looks like now (remember, this is only PART of the yard, one side of the house).
Wish us luck.

good luck I planted flowere and strawberry plants this spring. The flowers died, then grew, then died I don't get it and the strawberry plant just gets bigger and bigger but no strawberries and summers almost gone. So I have no Idea what I'm going to do with this strawberry plant this fall
Yeah, our yard looks like someone should use it as a dirt road somewhere.
Hopefully we can grow something soon. We will have to do it in sections.
Strawberries are seasonal, right?
good luck!!!! i hate picking up dog shit it makes me gag!
I told my wife if we get a dog it wont be until the kids can take care of it. I am not an animal person and have no desire for one. But the kids want one so it will be there dog to clean up after and feed. The momment it becomes my chore the doggie takes a ride to the chinese food resturant!
well since i already know yall failed. i wish yall luck for the next time. lol.
i tried to landscape my yard. but now i feel too manly to water the flowers. so i pray for rain to come at least twice a week.
it's funny cause my dad NEVER did any yard work, but my mom used to make me do everything. mow the grass, rake leaves, clean the gutters, blow off the roof, spread mulch & pinestraw. etc. matter of fact that's kinda jacked up now that i think about it. anyway, i have two homes the one i stay in i don't do shit at. yet some yard dudes cut it. the one i don't live at i cut the grass like a slave in the cotton fields. takes me 10+ hours to cut it, clean up the hedges, flower beds, etc.
me + yard work = a second job i don't get paid at. SUCKS.
It might be too hot to plant seed? I think they say to do that in the fall. Good luck! If nothing else you will get the poop all in one area lol.
Danielle:
That's one of the many reasons why I have children.

You'll love it. It's easy to make the kids pick up the poop and clean up after it. Of course, it takes constant reminding but I bet you are reminding them of tons of stuff anyway.
TUN:
HA HA..looks like your mom taught you well. I plan on my kids growing up to be just like you when it comes to yard work. Well, except Miah. She's a DIVA.
MOMTJ:
Yeah, it is too hot for seeds. That was what Angel told me when he got back from "borrowing tools/drinking beer". That is one of the reasons we stopped. We did manage to water the yard to get it moist and ready.
Poop all in one area would be good for...DOM!
