I'm home today.
I'm not feeling well ...*ahem*... so I took a personal day. I didn't have many patients anyway so I rescheduled them.
I've been feeling run down, defeated, tired..you name it, I am it.
I just need a day to call "MINE".
SO.......
I'm sitting on my bed messing with my laptop, stuffing my face and watching TV.
It's rainy weather outside and the sky is gray. I love it. It's the best group nap weather EVA!
Unfortunately, no one is here to have group nap with me.
I thought Angel was going to get rained out so we can have lunch and nap but that excitement was shot down. He's still at work.
I do have the cats. Onyx and Tattoo are here as well as Chupa.
Chupa stinks so he's staying on the floor.

Onyx likes to sleep on my face, head and neck so I can't breathe and there is still Tattoo...
Well....Tattoo..maybe not such a good choice.
My poor Tattoo has taken to shooting snot rockets throughout the house. It's pretty gross and seems to be random.
We'll be sitting around, all doing our own thing and we'll hear..."pfffft...pffffffft....pfffffffffffftttttt".
He's sneezing.
Sure enough, there's either a big booger hanging from his nose and he's trying to lick it off or it was left streaked across the floor, wall, couch, TV.....on YOU!
It's really disgusting, especially when you sit on the couch and something scratches the back of your hand when you moved it. Yeah, it's a crusted petrified booger that has adhered itself to the cushion.
I'm not so sure I'm feeling so lucky with my sleeping companions. I may be actually fighting for my life if I nap with them.
Regardless, I'm home.
....and I'm about to curl back up in the fetal position because it's NAP TIME!!!
Have a good one you guys.
.
.
.
Alright.....Alright...just to make you feel a little bit better and not AT ALL jealous....
I've been crowned "QUEEN FOR THE DAY".
For those of you who know and have known me forever know that being QUEEN FOR THE DAY doesn't mean I'm getting the "Royal Treatment" from my kids and husband.
No.
It means my ass is hugging "The Throne" throughout the day due to some crazy digestive problems.
There, no need to feel jealous!

Date Day/Night
Today Angel and I have the day to ourselves. My kids are at my parent's house for the weekend. They like to go over there because there is no chance that my mom will wake them up early to clean AND...they can stay up as late as they like.
Angel had to go to work this morning but he got rained out and came home early.
He wanted to take the trucks to get them cleaned and the oil changed and do all sorts of productive things...BUT I had other plans.
My mind was set on a NAP.
WHAT?!?!
I know I just woke up a few hours ago but Angel came home and we went and ate lunch. You know what happens when I eat....I get sleepy.
He told me, "I don't want to take a nap, I won't fall asleep, you're the grumpy one...you go take a nap."
SHOOT.....He didn't need to tell me twice.
In fact, I dove straight into the bed and Tattoo was already waiting for me, asleep, with his mouth open...snoring."
I'm feeling a little bit gypped cause I didn't get to have GROUP NAP like I wanted. Oh well, I still got my sleep.
It's HOT outside. I don't even want to go outside at all. It's not considerably cool in my house either considering I don't have Central A/C.
I could have sworn someone was knocking on my window last night. I know it must have been the Devil asking to come in "just for a minute" cause it's so hot out there.
Tonight's date plans are simple.
We are going to make Steak with mushroom, grilled onions and bell peppers and watch the UFC 100 on Pay Per View. (I'm a sucker for grown men crawling around on the floor in tight ass shorts and each other's crotches in each other's faces trying to force the other to tap out).
I will have plenty of Cheladas or perhaps...I may just down some of those Boone's Farm bottles that I bought during the 4th of July....
...hmmm...decisions, decisions.
Either way, this looks like a promising night.
Provided Angel doesn't fall asleep on it....

Poor Kitty!
Recently, something has happened to my Miah's kitty... Tattoo.
Saturday I had to take him to the vet (this is AFTER hunting down the vet for hours). I was freaking out because the cat's eye was watering and clear liquid was leaking from his nose. I looked it up on the Internet and there were comments that pointed to "allergies". I let it go for now because we went to Devyn's B-day party at Peter Piper Pizza.
(I will tell you a little story about that later in this post)
After the party, we came home and I checked on Tattoo and this is what I saw:
The vet looked at him and said he suffered some kind of massive head trauma. His brain was swelling and it was causing the fluid to be squeezed out of his nose, mouth and eyes. He gave him a couple of shots to help reduce the swelling and I guess help with any pain he was in. He said he has a 50/50 chance. I needed to take him home and make him comfortable.
Great.
First the puppy and now this.
I don't think I can handle this.
It was Saturday so I was happy to stay at home in my room with the cat.
Poor thing had so much blood coming out of his nose that it finally dried and crusted up inside so the cat had to sleep with his mouth open.
He snores.

He's doing better. This picture is what he looks like all day long for the next few days. I took him back to the vet yesterday and the vet says he is doing much better because now he is aware of his surroundings. Last time, he had a concussion and was disoriented.
He gave him another shot and sent us home. He said he will be like this and getting better for the next 48 hours.
At least he's drinking water and this morning he ate a few bites of food. He won't eat because all he smells is blood.
Doc says, he should be ok.
I wonder what Bastard did this to my cat!
CHANGING THE SUBJECT...
Devyn's birthday party was pretty fun. His cousins got to spend the weekend with him.
All Devyn came and asked me for his birthday was a little pool. I went right out and got it for him. I had a hell of a time blowing that thing up because I didn't have a pump and I didn't know how to turn the shop-vac into a blower. I couldn't find the instruction manual so I had to look it up online.
We ordered the party pack for Devyn's party which consisted of everything we needed ...even tokens. The kids got there, ate played I handed out tokens left and right. Devyn opened his presents and he got $20 in birthday money. He held out his wallet for me to put the money in and I did. I was so glad my son liked to walk around with money in his wallet in his pocket.
I still had half a cup of tokens left so any kid that was around got more tokens. I handed like 5 of them to Devyn and he said, "Um, no thank you, I already have some." And with that, he patted this BIG wad of tokens in his front pocket so that it made this jingling noise.
I was like a big kid when I saw that! I was like, "WOW, Where'd you get that from?" My mouth and eyes were wide open and I was in awe. I thought someone had given him more tokens. Then he said, "My money."
That's when my eyes drooped and my jaw dropped. I was like, "WHAT? YOU USED ALL OF YOUR 20 BUCK ON TOKENS?!?"
He said, "Umm hmmm."
I went to Angel to tell him that and Angel said he saw Devyn at a corner table divvying up a huge pile of tokens amongst his friends. He just didn't know it was from his birthday money.
Not much we could do about it after that. I came home and Angel stayed with the kids so that they could all play the games. Angel was having a ball on Devyn's birthday token money.

It's Time.
Well. The day has come!
I've finally convinced Angel that it is time to get laser eye surgery.
We've talked about wanting to do this for a long time but we were never able to afford it.
Now we can.
My company has a deal with the Surgeon's office. Employees and their family members automatically get $1300 off the top of the price. The Dr also provides financing.
Angel has been struggling with his contacts for the longest time. When I say "struggling" I means STRUGGLING. His eyes must be allergic to contacts because they kept producing mucous "eye buggers". His eyes were always red and irritated. He couldn't stop rubbing them or messing with them.
All the time, everyday, he would be walking around looking like a new born kitten. We had bought him some glasses before and they were like $300.00. They were soooo thick. It was like living with Mr. Magoo. (I love that cartoon, by the way)
Glasses gone.
I'm not trying to make fun of him. I'm just saying..It's finally time.
I had been telling him since last year that as soon as we got our income tax, we'd get his eyes fixed. He kept telling me to wait. Wait.
Naw, man...it's time.
I called the eye place, confirmed the $1300 discount + free consultation and then set up the appointment.
Today is the consultation.
Tomorrow is the surgery.
I can't wait. I know Angel must be worried because of how much he had to deal with his eyes. ALSO, the thought of someone cutting your eyes??? Ugh.
I've rearranged my patients so that I can do what I have to do with him.
Jenn's pretty happy for him too.
She says, "Oh Awesome! Now he can tell us how pretty we are ALL THE TIME instead of saying that his contacts were dirty."
Now...when he opens his eyes...he will be able to see my Honey-Do List....PERFECTLY.
It's win-win people.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Now, It's also that time of the week.
Scale Time!!
Lets see...Today the scale says.....
Starting weight: 185
Current Weight: 164.4
Previous Weight:168.8
Total lost since last week: 4.4lbs
Total lost in all: 20.6 lbs
I found that if I take my weight on Wednesday the I won't have to worry about what may be left over from being consumed from the weekend! It seems to be working out for me that way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's play a game...
Can you spot the kitty....?

Here ya go, Jared! and...FREE HAMSTERS!
Damn! I keep trying to put a video up but it never works.
(At least I know how to link)
Anyway...here's the video. Just click .......HERE
Did you click on it? Did you see it?
Yeah?
I'm just fuckin wit ya'll.
Angel hasn't done anything wrong........yet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANYBODY WANT SOME FRICKIN HAMSTERS???
For real though.
These animals are going to drive me crazy!
One of these hamsters (I don't know who it belongs to...Miah, maybe) keeps getting out of it's cage. Now it was cute when we were living in the apartment in Corpus as you can see HERE.
As a matter of fact, they are not aware of imminent death lurking in the Christmas tree...uhhh....dang..(ok...yes, I still have the tree assembled....SHUT UP! It just doesn't have any decorations on it. It's like one of those decorative plants in the corner of your room)..anywhooo....Tattoo has been on a rampage lately and has mauled everyone of us as we pass him. Then as you reach down to tear his claws and teeth out of your calves..he runs away so you can't grab him.
That cat has gone rogue!
The hamsters don't have a chance!!
They are still Masters of Escape.
We'll be walking by the cages and peering in looking for them just to make sure they're alive. Yeah, but one's not even there. Then it's the usual alarm that gets sent out by Devyn running through the house yelling "ONE OF THE HAMSTERS GOT OUT"!
Chaos ensues and then we are all scrambling around the house looking in all of the rooms, behind mattresses...and so on...all the while eyeballing the cat who's over in the corner of the couch licking his paws.
Miah and Devyn don't want them anymore so I need to do something quick before we start having to plan a yard or toilet funeral. (don't call PETA on me!)
Then there's the problem with Tattoo who tries to escape every chance he gets as soon as we open any door to the house. Stupid cat. But that's alright though, I got that cat figured out. He thinks that since he can whoop up on us cause we're his usual victims while we're sleeping and most vulnerable INSIDE the house that he's tough. All he does is run out and stops about 5 feet from the door, crouches in a ball (I think it's actually the fetal position) and then I have to grab him and put him back inside.
PUSSY!
He needs to start up his TRAINING again.

Got the tree up...finally. UPDATE: COME SEE!
I sent these pics to Angel on his phone. I use my cell phone to take pics because I don't have that Christmas gift I was waiting on since last year just yet. YUP, I've been waiting on Angel to get me a digital camera for the longest time now.
I have already done the whole "get my own damn present" thing too many times.
Oh,....uh....anywhoooo.
We've had the tree up for a couple of days now but we haven't gotten around to putting up the decorations. And by "We" I mean ME. I've just been passing out after work. I have just enough energy to make sure my kids are home safely and then I knock out.
Um....yeah...about the tree....
I took the pics to show Angel the tree lights and the 1 decoration we have up. This decoration isn't by choice...you'll see....
Click on the pictures to get a better look.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So guess what we have here.
THAT'S RIGHT!!
Gas has come down to $1.49 here, and that's without the gas card with the .03 discount.
I knew it!!
When I saw it I almost peed my pants a little. I know I let out a little squeak while I was driving and it's a good thing I was alone.
All is right with the world!

Not ready for it to be over!!
I'm talking about the weekend.
I had so much to do.
Angel and I went to Mexico on Sat afternoon and just spent some quality time there together.
I had to go back and forth to Walmart numerous times because I kept forgetting stupid crap like make-up or deoderant.
We had promised to take the kids for breakfast at IHOP and Angel was dragging behind and making us late.
This is him standing and watching TV. He's mesmerized. He can't draw himself away from the screen. I've called his name several times but he doesn't respond.
Maybe next time I'll just turn off the TV so we could get a move on.
Guess what he was so captivated by?..... Steel Magnolias, people.
Angel continues to think I'm a little mental because I bathe my cats. Any cats that I've owned were routinely bathed. Here's Tattoo in the tub. I call them "Swimming Kitties".
He reminds me a little of Michael Phelps reaching for the Gold. I'd say Tattoo made good time.Either way, I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I need more days off.

Jared's Right.
I AM starting a zoo.
Not intentionally, though.
I already had the 2 hamsters and the gerbil when I moved to this house. We promised the kids that we would get dogs when we did because we used to live in an apartment that didn't allow cats or dogs. We also promised Miah that she could get a cat here too. (Snowball didn't count because she was "left" here).
The current house occupant list:
1 husband
3 kids
3 rodents
2 dogs ("with a worm farm" says Jared)
1 (outside) cat
and 1 new kitten.
MEET TATTOO...
She's the one in the back saying "WHAT'S UP!"

She's Miah's kitten. Her birthday is coming up and Miah is the best little girl in the world. (She would have to be to put up with 2 brothers).
The dogs have been outside since their little infestation of worms. Yes people...they still are my babies....just "outside" babies right now.

This part is for MOE!
He wrote a post about saving money. It was a really great post with excellent tips. (Thanks MOE).
Here's how I saved money.
As you know, on my birthday, my water heater broke and we had to buy another one. That wasn't the only problem. The pipes in this house were sooo old. They were galvanized pipes and they were completely clogged. My father-in-law called my uncle and he came over with a friend.
This friend of his knew how to replace the pipes.
That's what he did!
He replaced all of the pipes in the house so now we have excellent water flow throughout the entire house.
Guess how much all of this costs?
$150.00 (not including the price of the water heater).
This man spent 3 days replacing pipes and that is all he charged.
SO...my helpful tip for saving money...marry into a family of construction workers who have friends with plumbing experience. (Also, Uncle Benny is a mechanic....how cool is that!!)
