Last Day before......DOOM!

Well guys, today is the last day of work for me this week.
I will be heading out either tonight or tomorrow with Angel so that we can start our "adventure".

Angel plans on recording a lot of it for us so that we can have "memories" but I'm not sure if I really want anyone to see me out there roughing it. You know, no make-up, soap, clean water, combs or deodorant.

Yeah, it's best to view me from a distance during this trip.

I'm not sure how I'm seeing this as relaxing.

OH YEAH!! IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!!
We're supposed to be pretending to be extreme fishermen.

Angel has been loading up the trailer with all of our necessities.
Tent, canopies, tarp, lawn/beach chairs, fishing poles, toilet, generator, lights...etc

YES! I said "toilet"!

We have one of these:

WHAT?!

I am SOOO grateful to have it. Don't ask me where we got it. I don't know. We've had it for a long time so at this point, I don't want to know. It's been cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.

(don't look at me like I'm the weird one. You all know what YOU do)

I don't like to go to the beach for days without it. When we are packing up I'm always asking for or looking for my toilet.

You guys think I'm nuts, right?

Well, picture this:

You're out on the beach (for days like I will be) and you need to do #1 or #2....on second thought, LADIES..YOU imagine this (because the men can just pee behind the truck like Angel does). Now, imagine looking around for a place to complete this task and all you see is sand, water and dunes. Men, unlike you, we have to squat. I hate squatting. Something is always brushing up against my nether regions and nothing ever sprays right .

I don't care what people say about going into the water to do #1. I just can't do it. ESPECIALLY NOT # 2. My kids don't even do it because they always come to me to tell me they have to "use it".

So..that's the reason I like to take it with me (only to the beach people, only to the beach).

Angel sets it up so I have privacy with a tarp strategically placed over the truck door. We are currently looking for this:

That way we can have our own little restroom.

Now, I know you read about me complaining about having to go to the beach...again. Having to fish non-stop out in the hot sun..etc.

The truth is, I'm really a little excited about going and spending time with my Angel. This is what makes him happy and I want to be around when he's happy.

Ehhh...winning the prize won't hurt much either.

All week long I've been hearing this song and it's been setting the mood.

If I have reception out there on the deserted island I will try to post pics on Twitter...so follow me if you want to see some retardedness.

Have a good one you guys. I will be back on Sunday night!

3 More Days People..

I hope you are all gearing up to pray for me.

I really mean an actual candle light vigil for me since I'm going to be out on the beach (AGAIN) for the weekend.

Like I mentioned before, Angel is super revved up about this whole Sharkathon extreme-fishing-tournament-expedition-thingy we are participating in.Three days of non-stop fishing. I love my naps (YOU KNOW I LOVE MY NAPS) but I have a feeling Angel isn't going to let me get away with napping when every moment is supposed to be spent stroking and caressing our rods and reels.

PLUS, The Weather Channel said it's supposed to be raining all week. I'm not a big fan of sleeping on the beach under the rain. I've done it before and it sucked because Dom and Angel (Miah and Devyn weren't born yet) slept through the whole tropical storm while I stayed up all night and placed towels in the corners of the tent to soak up water so that we wouldn't drown in our sleep.

According to the rules and regulations, we are supposed to bait, cast and catch our own fish/shark and it all has to be documented by digital camera in order for it to be legit. If we catch the "winning" fish/shark, we will be polygraphed as part of the requirements for collecting the prize. I've never been polygraphed before, I hope they don't ask me about those missing movies
from Movie Gallery all those years ago. I may need to take a sedative.
Either way, I'm looking forward to winning.

We both have the day off from work so we will be leaving EARLY Friday morning and we won't be coming back until Sunday.

Question: Hey Sheila! Are the kids going with you to the Sharkathon?

Answer: HELL NO!

I can barely handle being out there myself watching the poles and trying to fish. The kids are a huge distraction mainly because they are ALWAYS in the water and I have to watch them to make sure none of them get washed out to sea.

Question: So..what are you going to do with the kids?
Answer: I'm going to leave them here to fend for themselves. What the heck do you think I've been breeding them to do all of these years!!

Kidding.

My mother in law is going to take them to school Friday morning and then keep them the rest of the weekend. She must miss having lots of kids around *snicker*.
I laugh because I know how she is and she's VERY impatient. I still love her for taking them on all weekend. I'm sure she will have them at the doorstep the minute we tell her we are heading back (hopefully with our winnings).

Wish me luck people and pray for me that I don't come back with hooks in my fingers!

Typical Text between Angel and I.

I bet you are wondering who's bright idea it was to start doing some yard work right when the devil wants to set the earth on fire?

Any ideas??

Let's see who the dipshit is...

First, let me set you up.

Angel is wanting to go to the Island (again) but this time just He and I. We can leave the kids with my parents (along with my vehicle) and do some pier fishing on Friday night and some wade fishing on the beach on Saturday. He wants to stay for 2 nights. The rooms are very expensive (around 169 a night) and I'm not trying to pay that much.

There is the other issue that he "promised" we could do this weekend. And that was to section off a part of my yard for the dogs to mainly stay in so that we could have a social part of the yard with some grass. That sounds like home improvment that would benefit because weather stays pretty good here in the fall and we can take advantage of our yard.

So, here's the texts:

Angel: Before we do anthing what would you like to do this weekend if I don't work

Angel: Let's go shoot pool let's go to fast eddies me u

ME: No, not into that anymore

Angel: Good, just making sure

Angel: Well if I don't work Sat. I want to leave Friday to the island for two nights to unwind

Me: OK

Angel: Or do you want me to do the fence this week

Me: Let's do the fence so we can enjoy the rest of summer in some of our yard

Me: I will help

Angel: Ok or we can measure it and get an estamit from fence people so we can buy a small gate door or ben might have one

Me: whatever

Angel: And we can start on the grass

Me: Yeah

Angel: It would have been perfect for me to go to P.I. to see if those rooms were there then come get u but i know we got work to do just imageing

Me: If you want to go then we can go. make up your mind.

Angel: You need to make up my mind please

Me: No, just decide

Angel: Don't want to make the wrong decision u help now

Me: No, u decide. Who is going to help get school supplies and when?

Angel: I will get them Sunday at walmart promise and cook. Now decide

Me: I want to get them when they are cheapest. Did you go to quest?

Angel: That tells me nuthang

Me: Are you still over there?

Me: My brother is coming at xmas time.

Angel: Yes just got here. decide

Me: Got where? Quest? Don't be bossing me around.

Angel: Yes, decide I am the boss of u

Me: Then we can stay and do yard work

Angel:

Angel:

Angel: Oooooookayyyyyyyyyyy

Me: See, why you make me decide?

Me: Going to cash my check

Angel: Can I over rule u with my powert

Me: Um...powert?

Angel: Power what if that was the wrong answer to me

Me: You made me decide. I used MY powert.

Angel: For real I was just testing your judgement and I think ur not on the same page thought you were my soul mate. Mate

Me: I am your soulmate, that's why my sensible judgement comes in and decides when needed. See, I look after you.

Angel: I think that's not right my soul mate would've pick the fun stuff

Angel: And sorry if I don't agree with ur poor judgement and feeble thinking process

Me: Did you price a room?

Angel: I was going to drive over there to find that place but we can still go.

And.....scene....

....YUP, It was me.

What the hell is wrong with me?

Needless to say. These texts were between Angel and I this weekend and we NEVER went to the beach. We also never really got to work in the yard. We are "watering" the yard in order to moisten the soil because the metal rake we bought was sucking at pulling powdered dirt.

We will be planting grass for sure this Sept!!

.....maybe.

I'm living with a Wanted Man.

NO.

FOR REAL!!

Remember when Angel was winning THIS GAME!

Well, we just received a letter in the mail (addressed to Angel...not Me) from the Municipal Court.
Naturally, I opened it and it was basically stating thaaaaaat......

The Municipal Court is in the process of issuing a warrant for your arrest based on this citation:

SUSPENDED DRIVER LICENSE
RAN STOP SIGN
FAILED TO SIGNAL LANE CHANGE
FAILURE TO APPEAR

There were fine amounts for all of it totalling $649.00

The suspended Driver's license was $253.00

I could have sworn we had taken care of it a while back...right?
Didn't I go online to get this taken care of in that post linked above?

Well, turns out...it wasn't just a warning Angel received, nope.... (Angel's eyes must have been still healing from THE SURGERY not to know the color of a ticket and the color of a warning) it was a real live ticket Angel got way back when.

Of course, in true Angel style...it was disregarded and lost.

Sooo...since ANGEL LOST his ticket and didn't think to connect the fact that just because we paid for his license renewal...it didn't mean we paid for and took care of his ticket.

As a result, he's soon to be a WANTED man.

Now, I've told him many times that we can't afford to be paying these tickets he keeps collecting.
I may actually have to divert his attention and make him forget to go to the court house to take care of this. I should actually be setting up to collect some reward money in order to regain what we are going to be losing. That will be once I convince him to go on the lamb for being a wanted man.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Plan aborted.....

Angel got out of work early today to go to the court house to take care of this.
They dismissed the "Failure to Appear" charge which still left us him owing $524.00.

He tried to pull that...It's "our" ticket..we're in this together...crap that I pull on him but he had to realized...I wasn't in the the vehicle with him at any time when he got those tickets.

What am I going to do with this man?
I need cop friends so that they can sympathize with me and let him go when he gets stopped.
I contemplated grounding him from driving but I'm not that cruel.
Maybe when Dom gets old enough to drive, I'll have him drive his Daddy to work...

We'll see.

Date Day/Night

Today Angel and I have the day to ourselves. My kids are at my parent's house for the weekend. They like to go over there because there is no chance that my mom will wake them up early to clean AND...they can stay up as late as they like.

Angel had to go to work this morning but he got rained out and came home early.

He wanted to take the trucks to get them cleaned and the oil changed and do all sorts of productive things...BUT I had other plans.

My mind was set on a NAP.

WHAT?!?!

I know I just woke up a few hours ago but Angel came home and we went and ate lunch. You know what happens when I eat....I get sleepy.

He told me, "I don't want to take a nap, I won't fall asleep, you're the grumpy one...you go take a nap."

SHOOT.....He didn't need to tell me twice.

In fact, I dove straight into the bed and Tattoo was already waiting for me, asleep, with his mouth open...snoring."
Then, after my nap, I wake up and look for Angel (cause you know, he had so much to do today that he didn't have time for a nap...)

I'm feeling a little bit gypped cause I didn't get to have GROUP NAP like I wanted. Oh well, I still got my sleep.

It's HOT outside. I don't even want to go outside at all. It's not considerably cool in my house either considering I don't have Central A/C.

I could have sworn someone was knocking on my window last night. I know it must have been the Devil asking to come in "just for a minute" cause it's so hot out there.

Tonight's date plans are simple.

We are going to make Steak with mushroom, grilled onions and bell peppers and watch the UFC 100 on Pay Per View. (I'm a sucker for grown men crawling around on the floor in tight ass shorts and each other's crotches in each other's faces trying to force the other to tap out).

I will have plenty of Cheladas or perhaps...I may just down some of those Boone's Farm bottles that I bought during the 4th of July....

...hmmm...decisions, decisions.

Either way, this looks like a promising night.

Provided Angel doesn't fall asleep on it....

Angel had me screaming and moaning the other night!

Yeah.

Mmmmhhhmmmmm.

I knew that would bring you in here.

Nosey asses!

Naw...for real though.

I was sitting outside the other night while Angel was Q'n some pork chops and sausage. That was the same night as the lightning storm and all that heavy rain in some parts of Texas. We only got some sprinkles so he kept Q'n.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to some people who know Angel. He's Q'd during a hail storm before.

The man is relentless!

I was covering myself with a towel because it was just sprinkling. Angel casually leaned over and picked something off the towel just under my chin.

I told myself, "don't ask, just ignore and keep talking."

So I did. I ignored.

I could see out of the corner of my eyes....this fluttering....

"Don't look! You know you shouldn't look! Just keep talking!"

So I keep talking.

Blah Blah Blah.....I'm sitting in my chair talking to Angel and his eyes looked downward, toward the space under my chair.

I knew I would regret looking down to see what he was staring at.

*cringing* "DON'T LOOK!! C'MON, YOU KNOW BETTER!!!"

My stupid ass looked.

I saw them and screamed.

AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

You know, one of those blood curdling scary movie screams, where the white girl gets slaughtered cause she keeps looking back. (What?!?!...she does!)

Now, Angel, he just laughs at me cause he knows I always scream.

Yet, he always asks in his chuckling voice, "Why do you always scream?"

I was screaming because there were June bugs under my chair.

They were upside down wiggling their feet at me.

Ughhh!

I hate June bugs!!

Little brown bugs that fly around blindly bumping into things. Mostly......ME!

They always manage to aim right for my neck. The back of my neck. Kamikaze style.

Then there are those with slightly more flight skills that manage to hit my cheeks and my forehead when I'm not looking.

It just totally grosses me out.

They come at me looking just like that. They just bounce around waiting on me to send someone to stomp on them in order to save my life.
Another creature that is out to get me......
FLYING COCKROACHES!!

Nasty fuckers start coming out from all over when it's about to rain. They seek shelter under MY ROOF. Right in the corners of the rooms so that when you walk into the room they flutter their wings to make you look up at them and they, too, dive at you kamikaze style.

The only thing you can do is swat wildly into the air and try to get away.

They come straight for my neck too.

The roaches weren't out that night but the June bugs were gathering an army right outside my door. I knew that if we opened the door they would fly in and I would be running for my life all night!

I was just gathering the food to take inside and Angel said, "They're right behind you!!!"

THAT SENT ME OFF!!

More screams and tip-toeing to get away.

I scream during "scary" movies too. It doesn't have to be a super scary movie but if the scene is one that is supposed to make you scream or...you know...is supposed to be especially scary....I actually scream.

I get into the movies. I like to experience them fully.

My kids are used to it and so is Angel (I think).

Now, for those of you who wandered into my blog just because of the title.....welcome pervs!

I hope you come back!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO......

My SIL.......

SHERLISA!!

Now, I won't go into detail about how old young she is. I will tell you this though, we are cruising on the same bus.

I've added some pictures because it wouldn't be true to tradition not to for the birthday blogs. She's gonna wanna kill me for this but...ehh...what can she do. I'm in Texas and she's waaaaaay over there!

So, for your viewing pleasure:

Presenting:

Here we are at my house. I believe it was Dom's birthday. It was time to munch!! I remember Sherlisa had to keep coming back to her food because she wasn't able to 'just sit and eat'.

Don't worry chica. Once the kids get bigger, they will be able to feed themselves and it will be awesome!

And when I say it was time to munch....I mean it. I think we hit the food as much as we could and especially before anyone else could get there...hee hee. You don't see any frowning faces here by the food.
Here she is with her baby girl and my baby girl. Aren't they all super cute!!

It's Easter! We were at the beach with all of the kids and as much of the family we could get together. It was awesome! We had tarps and chairs and all kinds of shade (cause you know how I get at the beach).

Alright, this picture is evidence for Angel that I wasn't the one who painted his nails black without his permission.

Lisa said, "Yeah, sure Dominique...let me paint those for you, here...sit down right here..."

I like to give credit....where credit is due!

That's all the pictures I have...well, not really have but all that I choose to use......right now. I may be feeling generous tomorrow and decide to extend the tribute!

We'll see.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY! WE LOVE YOU!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SOOOOOO....

You know how I keep complaining about Angel never bringing home fish from a regular fishing trip?

Well, guess what!!

We Have FEAST!
He and his cousin Jaime went fishing early yesterday morning and came back with all of this. They caught a few shark and Angel caught that huge fish. They finished fileting the fish and put them in baggies. I was hoping to be eating it last night but they drank too much and were very tired from lounging in the sun on the beach...fishing.

Whatever...

Either way, we will be having fish. I can't wait. I need to get to the store to get the cilantro, tomatoes and other ingredients!.....mmmmmmm

Too bad I hurt my friggin ankle (for those of you who follow me on twitter...don't laugh just because you know why/how I hurt it). All I can say is that there is a hole in my backyard and my foot gravitated toward it uncontrollably (while sipping on Cheladas).I'm out of work for the next couple of days. I can barely walk but I know it will be alright come Wednesday to go back to work.

I will just enjoy these couple of days...alcohol free.

Decisions...Decisions...

So, this weekend Angel has to go to his Dr's appointment in Corpus.

He asked me if I wanted to meet him up there.
What would we do up there?
Go fishing?
It IS closer to the water and can make a quick trip to the beach but that would mean getting a motel room and we don't want to have to pay for a room again.
My co-worker said that if we don't go to Corpus maybe we could make a quick trip to Mexico for some liquor bottles.
Hmmmm...
I do love a trip to Mexico.
So..let's see........

Mexico....sleep at home....cheap liquor....cheaper all the way around

OR

Corpus...Angel is already driving his truck...I would have to drive up there in my truck WITH the kids resulting in 2 vehicles needing gas...renting a room....spending more and more money PLUS having to put gas in both vehicles for the ride home.......NO THANKS.

I think I prefer to stay home and relax and maybe have a small get-together.

I like staying home. It helps with my anxiety. For some reason, I've been having a lot of it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, it isn't looking very good for Dom as far as being able to attend Med Tech.

Since I've placed him in this school for him to be able to work at his own pace, he seems to have chosen a slow pace. He has these packets he's supposed to have completed to be able to graduate into the 9th grade and he is behind on his Language Arts packets by 3. He doesn't have enough time this week to complete and test on these packets in order to finish this school year and make it into the 9th grade.

This means he will have to stay in this same school next year as an 8th grader until he completes those packets and tests on them then he will be considered a 9th grader.

BUT....

I believe Med Tech will only allow students to attend coming into the school as a 9th grader once school starts.

I'm a little disappointed and really just frustrated with Dom for letting himself just slack off the way he did.

Of course, if you have read any of this blog from the beginning then you will know that this is the story of my life.

This is what we go through every year.

It's nerve racking.

What really gets me is that he may be missing out on an opportunity and he blew it. Whether he knew he wanted to go to Med Tech before or if it's something new he wanted to do...he should have kept up with his work.

Whatever the outcome...it will be a lesson learned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Another reason for my anxiety is that Angel may be leaving in a few months with the company to go work in either Dallas or New Orleans.

For how long?

I don't know. But I know it will be until the job finishes. And if anyone has ever worked in construction or knows of anyone who works in construction, then you know that deadlines are never met and work takes longer than anticipated.

It could be years.

This sucks.

Just when I need him most with my kids changing and growing and needing a father around them.

What do I do? How do I manage this by myself? I know I used to do it before but they were much younger then and idle threats were major components in discipline back then.

It used to work.

Now they are just shrugged off.

I guess we will see what happens and if you guys will see me on some talk show cause Devyn has become lead pimp in the neighborhood or Miah is head of the local gang...then....

Send help.....Please.

(UPDATE) The Birds and the Bees + Wireless Internet =

What do you do when it comes time to have "The Talk" with your kids?

Do you have to plan a time to sit and do it?
Is there a certain age that's appropriate for it?
How do you know it's time for it?
Do you know exactly what you are going to say?
Is it rehearsed?
Are you prepared to answer questions?

I wasn't thinking ANYTHING about this or what I would do/say when it came time to have "The Talk". I mean, c'mon..who is actually prepared for these things?

No one.

BUT... (dammit) I think it's time.

We all know Dom, right?

Well, just recently, we sent the kids to bed and since he's been in trouble I make sure to take away the phone and any of the electronics because I don't want him up at night texting people or playing games when he should be sleeping.

So, I went to his room to get the phone and the door was locked.

I knocked and asked why it was locked and he said because he was changing.

Yeah...

So anyway, I get the phone and take it to my room. I check the texts (cause that's what mommies do) and I came across a few texts between Dom and his girl cousin.

One texts said, "I downloaded p-0-r-n my PSP."

Now, I was like...What? No way...

So I went back (because I totally forgot that he even had a PSP) and asked him for the PSP.

This was the look I got...

With that...I knew something was up.

I told him that I read the text that said he downloaded the p-0-r-n and I wanted the PSP. He handed it over and I took it to my room to figure out how to work the damn thing. I finally found the power button and still had trouble figuring out where to go.

After a short time....I found it.

There was like 55 min of hard-core on there!!!

I was like...HOLY CRAP how in the hell did he download it on his PSP? I have been locking up the computer so he hasn't had access to it.

Then I remembered...Dear Uncle Bobby gave me that wireless router for my anniversary.

Instant Access!! Thanks Bro.

No wonder Dom didn't care if he got sent to his room.

So...of course, like Mommies do...we wake up our husbands to point out our findings and just like unfazed Daddies do......he remained...unfazed.

I went back to Dom's room...with a belt...and whooped his ass.

Dom is 14, he didn't shed a tear.

He's almost taller than I am for goodness sake.

I didn't spank him because of the flick (I don't think) I whooped his ass because I'm pretty sure he was trying to get his girl cousin involved (no..not in sex.. just to show her). She's got enough to deal with in her teenage life and she doesn't need my son to be running around showing her this stuff.

Anyway, this is the milestone in Dom's life.

I think.

He's interested/curious about sex so whooping his ass him isn't going to do it anymore.

So...now....guess who has to sit Dom down and give him the talk?

I sure hope Angel is ready for this...

UPDATE:
So I communicated with
Capricorn about this situation and he called me a "SPAZ" cause "p0rn and masterbation is normal" <--- his words.

Yeah, I know and...maybe so.

I may have jumped the gun on spanking Dom and now I feel guilty because I panicked. I know spanking him shouldn't have been the answer but...

DUDE....I PANICKED!!
First child...First "sex" experience. Not what mommy wants to see or know just yet.

I know it's normal. I'm not going to stick Dom in a monestary...just yet.
(kidding)

Still....
Can we wait a little while longer before we have to do all of this?
I mean, I'm still having to deal with telling him to put "bigger" clothes on and stop letting his ass show cause his pants keep hanging. (watch out Dominique. I'm going to pull them down sometime if you keep wearing them like that)

Ughhh...that's what I get for not expecting the unexpected.

And just so you know...Dom is fine. We still carry on the way we always have...just without the p0rn on the PSP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a better note...I am taking Dom out of that Charter school he is going to because I had a talk with his Doctor and he suggested enrolling him into Med Tech.

This is a small discription of it...

A dynamic partnership between:
Schools
Colleges and Universities
Medical Facilities
Together we address the need for medical workers that are highly skilled in advanced technologies.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 19 percent of all new jobs created between 2006 and 2016 will be in health services—3.6 million jobs. Through the integration of academics, medical, technological and vocational opportunities our goal is to become a new kind of medical high school that produces medical leaders for the 21st century.
Med Tech allows you to apply your academic and medical skills to real world settings. You will have an opportunity to explore the broad fields of medicine and advanced technology to help you make career decisions.

Now see, this is awesome!!

I called and they receptionist told me that there were still 30 spots available for enrollment and that I could enroll online.

So...I did.

Check out their four year course sequence:

I don't know...I know my baby is smart but I told him, "There's CALCULUS on there. I don't know calculus".

I won't be able to help him.

Then he got into this...."How do you not know calculus?? Didn't you have to know it to get through high school??"

NOPE.

Not many, many moons ago when I was in High School.

Anyway, It's in another city about an hour or so away so he will be bussed. Hopefully, this will be a big enough challenge for him!!!

I'm excited.

He's excited.

This is going to be AWESOME!

Rackin Up Dem Points

Angel woke up yesterday morning and left for work (late) because of a late night and when I woke up to get ready for work I noticed that he had left his wallet on the dresser.

So, I texted him and let him know.

Shortly afterward, he called me and told me that he had just gotten pulled over. He realized it was missing and the officer ran his name. THEN, the officer tells him that his license is SUSPENDED!

WHAT?!?!

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??

How did that happen?

Lucky for him the officer was nice and understanding and told him that usually they would impound his vehicle and put him in jail for having a suspended license. He let him go with a warning and told him that he needed to take care of that ASAP.

Now see, I believe it was last month that Angel told me he was pulled over and they ran his license and it wasn't suspended then.

Okay, wait...

Let's go back to the beginning....

A few months ago (I'm sure several), we received a letter in the mail stating that according to the new law in Texas, the DMV will be operating on a new point system. Depending on the amount of points you have on your licence, you will have to pay a certain amount of money EVERY YEAR until those points come off. The points are usually taken off after a certain amount of time without getting a ticket. (If this is the case, we would be paying for-ev-er!)

Now...ME...I'm a good law abiding citizen (yeah, right) BUT my significant other...has been racking up them points. So naturally he got one of those special letters letting us know that we owe money.

Apparently, Angel has 6 points.

6 points on his license (when we received the letter...I'm sure it was only 4) That means we only had a certain amount of time to make a payment before they suspend the license.

I'm could have sworn I payed that fine in full for him so that we didn't have to worry about it.

When he called today to see what was up, they said they never received the payment.

DAMN!

Then I remembered that when it was time to renew my license (cause it was expiring) they sent me a letter stating that they were declining to issue my new license because I had a fine I was supposed to pay from running a stop sign in San Antonio in 1995. (Ok, so I wasn't always a law abiding citizen)
Yeah, they get me now, 14 years later.

So, I called the DMV got whatever connections I needed to take care of this fine. Went online and paid it and my license came in the mail.

I don't know how I didn't pay Angel's fine.

Now we have to hurry up and get that fine paid for him so that they can re-instate his license so that he can continue to work.

I'm telling you man, I know people who like to collect points for stuff, but these are the kind of points I don't want to be hanging on to.

Do I have the only man here who is winning this game because he has the most points?

Cause you know...I don't think we want to win this one....every year.

IF there a class to teach someone how NOT to lose their debit card?

I would definitely sign Angel up for one!

A couple of days ago, Angel lost his Debit card.
It disappeared like magic, right before our very eyes.

Okay, so it didn't vanish into thin air but we don't know what the hell Angel did with it.

He had it with him in his truck and we were all with him. We went through one of those drive through stores and bought a few drinks for us and the kids, then we never saw it again.

YES, we did go back and check the store.

YES, we did search the whole truck (and cleaned it in the process).

YES, Angel was subjected to a cavity search.

Well, there wasn't actually a cavity search but if you were to get one every time you lose a wallet or debit card or checkbook, then I bet he's lose his habit of losing things....QUICK!

I don't know how many time's he's lost his wallet.

Just gone.

So, who had to call the bank and say they were Angel (because we have separate bank accounts, it's a good thing the name works both ways) and give all of Angel's bank account info and order a new card for him.

Miah!

No, just kidding.

ME!

We have separate bank accounts for this very reason. I'm afraid because of the many times Angel has lost his card/wallet. I can't afford for anyone to just take it all away. I rarely/hardly ever/never lose my wallet.

I keep mostly all of the money in my account.

I also keep the checkbook.

Don't worry, I would never leave my husband and take all of the money.
Wouldn't dream of taking all of the tens of hundreds of dollars that we have.

Anyway, this happened on Saturday. We are still waiting for the new card to come in.

Trust me. No one is waiting more anxiously than I am.

Then...he asked me if he could use my card or keep the checkbook.

My heart almost stopped.

I could feel my body getting cold.

My skin tightened.

My mouth got dry and it was hard to swallow.

OMG. What do I do?

I can't tell him "NO" because, well, he makes some of the money too.

I KNOW!

CASH!

I can give him cash and he will be happy like a child and forget about MY card and the checkbook.

What?! What do you mean, "you need more money than that"? All you need is $20.

Here, take the checkbook, then.

Huh?! What?! You don't like to write checks? But you asked for the checkbook!!

My card? Really? Do you really need my card?
Oh...um...okay, what are you going to get? What are you going to do? Please don't hurt it.

So, I had to lend him my card.
As I was handing it over, I kept thinking...NO, don't do it!!! HOLD....ON....TIGHT!

Let me tell you, I was sweating it for a long time. All day.

Then he came home from his outing and I forgot to ask him about the card and then next day came and he went to work.

That's when I realized I forgot to get my card back from him and I was driving around in my work car.

I have needed an oil change for a looooong time and I've been putting it off. Finally, I thought I felt the car sputter a little bit and I was starting to freak out because I didn't want the engine to lock up on me on the highway.

I pulled into the first oil changing station I came across and they took the car and got to work.

Now with my company, I pay for any repairs the car needs (any minor repairs that I can afford like gas, wipers and oil changes) and they reimburse me.

So, I'm sitting in the waiting room and I start thinking about how much it's going to be and then I started thinking about getting my card.

Uh....I don't have my card.

Slight panic.

It's OK.
I have the checkbook.
Damn!
The checkbook isn't even in MY name. (separate accounts and I don't want checks) I don't think they will accept it.

I ask them anyway and they said, "Doesn't your company have a FLEET account with us?"

FLEET account??? What's that?

DUH!

They check, and my company does.

AWESOME!!

I didn't have to pay a damn thing!
I'm going back on Thursday because they said my transmission fluid needs changing.
Whateva!! Just put it on the Fleet account!!

Let me just say. I got home after work and snatched my card back from Angel. He's going to have to just wait it out for his. I can't be put in these predicaments.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I took my parents to the bus station yesterday morning so that they could ride the bus aaaaaaaalllllllllll the way to New York to go visit my bro and my SIL for a month.

I feel bad because I missed a call from them (they don't have a cell phone) but my mom left me a message this morning at almost 8 A.M. saying they were in Montgomery, Alabama and that they are doing fine.

ALSO!!!

As I was checking those messages.........

I got a voicemail from my brother. I don't think he meant to leave me a voicemail but you know those new Iphones....touchscreen and all....

Yeah, bro.

*tsk. tsk. tsk.*

Quit talking on the phone while driving...or was it because you were in the HOV* lane....solo?
hmmmmmm....
Sounded like no amount of apologizing was going to make that officer happy!!!

*HE CALLED AND CORRECTED ME BECAUSE I HAD ORIGINALLY PUT "EXPRESS" LANE.

"WHATEVER YOU DO.....

DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!!!"

**Okay, before I really start this post, I just want to tell everyone that this post is not meant to offend anyone in any way. I'm just simply letting you know what happens in our lives and how we handle it. If you want...consider this my disclaimer! There, I said it, so don't be gettin all mad at me!!**

On Saturday morning I knew Angel was outside messing with the speakers on the Land Rover but I didn't know that he WAS NOT ALONE!! I could hear faint talking outside.

I got up from the computer and walked over to the window and this is what I saw....

At first, I was wondering who the heck is outside. Then I was wondering why so many women were in my yard. What is my STUD up to out there?

(Que eerie music here......duh duh duuuuuuuuuuh)

"WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!"

That's what I told the kids, (after it dawned on me what was REALLY going on)

"STAY AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS!!"

Now...if you know me at all, then you probably know that I immediately snickered and ran to get my camera.
I ran to another window to get a better look and that's when the kids started getting nosey and asking questions like, "What are you doing?" and "Why are you lurking behind the curtains and taking pictures?" and "What's so funny?"

I couldn't resist. It never fails, Angel is always the one getting caught out there....alone....defenseless (usually drinking beer).

Look, don't get me wrong, we may not be avid church goers (or even church goers for that matter) but it doesn't mean we don't believe in God or Jesus or whoever you choose to talk to us about at YOUR convenience.

I love watching Angel squirm.

Then, I noticed that they had him surrounded. They know he's a big man so they needed to rely on some back-up in order for their persuasion charms to work. I have no idea how long they were out there before I noticed.

Finally, they started leaving and I opened the door and called out to Angel, "Psssst...pssst...are they gone?" He comes inside and tells me how the lady just kept talking to him and he was telling her that he really didn't want to take the pamphlets because they would just end up in the trash and that he thinks that they sent the young girl forward to "tempt" him into being more interested into listening to how much of a sinner he will be if he doesn't....blah..blah..blah...

He said he kept looking around while he was telling them no (I betcha he was praying then!)
He also said that the ladies couldn't stop looking at his shirt...

Finally, they gave in (probably thinking they were wasting their breath on the devil's spawn) and carried on, arming themselves for the next unsuspecting door opener or yard lounger.
Keep an eye out, people!

I just might make it...

I just need to shut down and recharge for.....a month.

I've been very busy and it's been very stressful.

On Thursday, Angel started to feel a little better from his eye surgery. He was up for a little bit during the day. But, only for a little bit.

That night, Dom complained about pain in his lower right side of his abdomen.

We called the Doctor and he said take him to the E.R.

We went, stayed there overnight and I called my work to let them know I wasn't going to be able to see my patients today. I would try to see some tomorrow.

Dom was admitted and spent the weekend there. Turns out he had a kidney infection.
I stayed with him Friday night and Saturday night.

He was doing well enough to come home on Sunday.

Angel is feeling better too.

He's gone back to work.

Honestly, you would think that when I suggested (insisted) that he get his eyes fixed that I was actually suggesting that we take a trip to HELL and get his eyes fixed there.

I can just imagine how much pain he was in but I can swear he was cursing me under his breath.....with every breath.

After like, day 1 of the surgery, he was complaining that something went wrong but he was still in recovery.

Yesterday, I took Angel for another follow-up and they took the protective contacts out of his eyes.

He's doing better.

THEN...my mom calls and says that my dad is having pain on HIS right side. So I take Angel home and pick up my parents and take them to HIS Doctor's office.
Turns out...it's a kidney stone.
Ugh....
I took yesterday off (well, actually, I saw one person) so that I could rest a little, cry a little, breathe a little.....
Didn't work out that way.
Doesn't matter.
On a good note, we are getting some things around the house fixed.
My Uncle (you remember him) and his friend came by because I wanted to pull the tile up and put new tile down in the restroom and the room outside the restroom.
They came by and did that yesterday (they only pulled up the tile and patched the holes in the wall).
Pictures to come as the work progresses (cause we all know you like to see boring home improvement pics).
Too bad!
I'm gonna post them anyway.
Today, I have to take Dom for HIS follow-up appointment with his pediatrician.
Time to go.

It's Time.

Well. The day has come!

I've finally convinced Angel that it is time to get laser eye surgery.

We've talked about wanting to do this for a long time but we were never able to afford it.

Now we can.

My company has a deal with the Surgeon's office. Employees and their family members automatically get $1300 off the top of the price. The Dr also provides financing.

Angel has been struggling with his contacts for the longest time. When I say "struggling" I means STRUGGLING. His eyes must be allergic to contacts because they kept producing mucous "eye buggers". His eyes were always red and irritated. He couldn't stop rubbing them or messing with them.

All the time, everyday, he would be walking around looking like a new born kitten. We had bought him some glasses before and they were like $300.00. They were soooo thick. It was like living with Mr. Magoo. (I love that cartoon, by the way)

Then his company sent him to work in Laredo and he forgot his glasses. I asked him to give me the address where to send them and a pair of keys and they never got to their destination.

Glasses gone.

I'm not trying to make fun of him. I'm just saying..It's finally time.

I had been telling him since last year that as soon as we got our income tax, we'd get his eyes fixed. He kept telling me to wait. Wait.

Naw, man...it's time.

I called the eye place, confirmed the $1300 discount + free consultation and then set up the appointment.

Today is the consultation.

Tomorrow is the surgery.

I can't wait. I know Angel must be worried because of how much he had to deal with his eyes. ALSO, the thought of someone cutting your eyes??? Ugh.

I've rearranged my patients so that I can do what I have to do with him.

Jenn's pretty happy for him too.

She says, "Oh Awesome! Now he can tell us how pretty we are ALL THE TIME instead of saying that his contacts were dirty."

Now...when he opens his eyes...he will be able to see my Honey-Do List....PERFECTLY.

It's win-win people.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Now, It's also that time of the week.

Scale Time!!

Lets see...Today the scale says.....

Starting weight: 185

Current Weight: 164.4

Previous Weight:168.8

Total lost since last week: 4.4lbs

Total lost in all: 20.6 lbs

I found that if I take my weight on Wednesday the I won't have to worry about what may be left over from being consumed from the weekend! It seems to be working out for me that way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's play a game...

Can you spot the kitty....?
