A day at the beach!

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day. Weather was in the 80's.

Angel and I wanted to take the kids to the beach (okay...so it' wasn't really my idea cause we all know I'm not a big fan of the beach) and we all had a great time.

We packed up the dogs because Angel said he had taken them before with the kids and they ran and played in the dunes with the kids.

Cool. I want to see the puppies play!

Now, we were a little nervous because we have never taken the dogs on the highway in the back of the truck. We've only taken them down the street to the park. We tied them down so that it wouldn't be possible for them to raise their front paws over the side or tailgait of the truck.

We drove slowly and watched them the whole way.

This is Serena.
She decided it was more fun to stand most of the way and make us piss our pants the whole trip.
She also loved the wind and barked for absolutely nothing!

Then, she did what she always does.
Played with Venus. They started their play-fighting again.

Here's what I was drinking (and believe me...I was drinking a lot).

I will never pass the test to become a Hobo. I could never keep the paper bag on my beer can. It even had a hole in the bottom where my beer kept sliding out.

So we get to the beach and we let the dogs out. They played in dunes...and chased each other...
...and then together.....PRANCED AWAY!

Now, I was panicking because they were just prancing farther and farther away and my voice wouldn't carry because of the fricken "soothing sounds of the ocean."

My babies were running away!!
Then they turned around and came back.

Whew. I was worried.

THEN...a TRUCK DROVE BY....and they ran down the beach after the truck.

Angel had to jump into his truck and chase them down.

I had to run after Angel to help him after he caught the dogs because he wasn't going to be able to lift one into the back of the truck without the other getting away. I caught up with him and the dogs and walked one back with me on the leash.

We gave them some water and tied them up!!

They almost escaped!
No one escapes!!

I'm not letting these dogs get away THAT easily!

Here's Dominique. He dug this little cave out of the dune.

They all took turns taking pics in it.

Miah wanted to be in the water even though it was pretty cold. I didn't get in.

Devyn even went into the water.
ALL of the kids went into the water. I told you..Angel has made them into fish!!
Here's base camp!
We had it made!

That's all of the pictures that I took because by this time..I had a killer buzz going on and the rest of the day was pretty much a blur.

I DO know that Angel didn't drink much and he got us home safely. He made sure that the kids were showered and fed and put in bed.

Rarely have I ever had to place him in the position to take care of the kids because I just wasn't able to. I think this time makes 2.

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and took my shower for work. It's probably because I was passed out at 9pm.

This weight loss had definitely messed up my ability to handle alcohol. I'm glad Daddy was there to take over.

I hate going to the mall.

Dom has been bugging me FOR-EV-ER about taking him to the mall to go to some store called "Hot Topic" (apparently, that's how it's spelled..with the strike-through because Dom made me correct it)

It took me a LOOOONG time to pry my lazy butt from my bed and just take him. Lucky for me the store was right by one of the entrances to the mall. We walked in and Voila! there it was.

We walked around the store taking in everything because it seems to be geared towards those kids who like darker clothing and skulls...

We fit right in.

Dom found some gloves that he wanted.
Angel and I were teasing Dom about wanting black mesh clothes and zippers last night.
Sure enough...He got zippers.
It's alright, though.

I used to be one of those parents who would see someone else's kids dressed in black and all goth-like and realized when my son wanted to dress the same that it's really....Okay.
I've explained to Dom that I'm not going to care how he chooses to dress...to a point..(still no skinny jeans and he knows exactly why..you can ask him on his blog if you like).

I just had a discussion with him about his 70 in "individual sports" for his grade in school.

I asked him what that class is and he said it's like PE.

He only has it once a week and that he only got the 70 because "he didn't participate".

THOSE WERE HIS WORDS!!

So, I told him that since he chose not to "participate" that he in not allowed to use the cell phone at school anymore.

Geez, these kids have it made.

I mean...look at the position Devyn takes when we get home:

I know that my son is very well behaved and has excellent manners. He does have respect for his elders because he was raised to be able to determine the difference between right and wrong.
How he dresses isn't going to change that. His choice in clothing is just an expression of is personality.

Now, I no longer judge people by the way they dress. Unless they disrespect me.

Besides...LOOK WHAT I GOT!!

It's a patch. I have this pair of jeans that have a rip in the *ahem* crotch area and I was looking for a patch to fix it.

Angel is going to love it.

For my newer readers..I developed a love for skulls after I met Angel. He is/was hardcore heavy metal and I am/was straight-up R&B. I used to think the music he was listening to was written by the Devil himself. I didn't know what I was getting myself into but we have adapted.

Since we've been together I've been drawn to lots of things that have skulls on them.
As I've said before, skulls to us are like any other character. I just like them to be kinda cute. AND...my kids know the difference between cute skulls and the skulls to notify you of poison.

HERE is an example of my love of skulls.

And another..

And one more just for good measure..

We had lunch at the mall. It was nice and the kids were behaving AWESOMELY.

Now, as a mother, I am always trying to teach my children life lessons. I mean, who isn't, right?

We came across this gentleman on the corner:

So, we gave him a dollar. He was nice enough to let us take a pic of him.

Then, the car behind him gave him money and took a pic too. He told us we were good luck.

See...Life Lessoned Learned: Honesty is what pays.

We're taking the kids to the beach tomorrow. Angel isn't going to be working so we will have a good time. I'll take pics.

Uh..no..I won't be in a bikini Honkeie2. I'm waaaay past the bikini stage since I've had my litter of children...( I know, I know....TMI!)

Just killing time...

Lately, I've been reading a new blogger.
His name is Nick.
His blog is called Onward Bound.

I highly recommend you check out his site if you would like to reminisce about what it was like to be confused about the many things of life in your young 20's.

He aspires to make it big in Hollywood and I wish him all the luck.
He even auditioned for AMERICAN IDOL!!

Well, I came across something that instantly made me think of him today.

THIS:
I read his post named POSSESSION a few days back and saw the very same bottle at a nearby store. I chose to get the black one because I wanted to give it to Dominique. (also so I wouldn't look like a copy-catter)

Dominique likes it.

-------------------------------------------------------------

So check it out Honkeie2 I went to that site you linked on your blog and made my hero:

Here I am.
I'm The Incredible Kind Philanthropist...Okay...

Unfortunately, I'm a little sketchy about what a Philanthropist does..is what Philanthropy actually is..
So, I looked it up:

–noun, plural -pies.
1.
altruistic concern for human welfare and advancement, usually manifested by donations of money, property, or work to needy persons, by endowment of institutions of learning and hospitals, and by generosity to other socially useful purposes.

Well, I DO work in the medical field...So....Okay...

There I am.

I also have a hidden talent.

It's called.............INSTANT SLEEP!

I don't need to take any special potion to activate this power. I simply need to lay horizontal and decide I want to go to sleep. It's awesome.

I utilize that power ALLLL the time.

WHAT?!?

Gotta keep my powers sharp, right??

Also, Phil..I got this book at Target for $1. Might want to pick up a copy for yourself the next time you make a run for Absinthe.

I got out of work around 11 am today cause I only had 2 patients so I did a few things and got Dom cause he finished his Benchmark testing early and they let him out at 12:30.

He says he wants to be a chef and go to culinary school. I don't see why not...Whatever he wants.

That's about it for now. Gonna go chill with Dom for a while before the younstas get out of school.

A small confession and .....IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I have a confession to make.....

My underwear don't fit me anymore!!!

That's right, I said it.

And NO...It's not what I yell out to Angel when I want to have sex.

My granny-panties aren't choking my nether regions anymore.

I know this is what you really wanted to wake up and here but that's "OK". You won't be the only ones to know this astounding news.
I will be spreading the good cheer to all who are withing hearing distance. Which will be EVERYONE on the highways and EVERYONE at my office (lucky them).

For those who have been reading along for quite some time, you know it's because of my recent weight loss.

This weeks weigh-in brings us to:

Current weight: 168.8
Starting weight: 185

That's a grand total of 16.2 lbs lost.

Of course, it's been fluctuating but I'm still working on it.
I may be stuck at this weight but I'd rather be stuck at this one than still trying to squeeze my ass in my granny panties.
YAY!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, these are random pictures that I threw in of Angel and Miah. She was sick and he got home from work and went to lay with her for a bit in this one.

Here's one of them while we were waiting to get our taxes done (or something like that).

I'm a sucker for Angel-Miah pictures!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALRIGHT! Now to the point of this post.

DEVYN.

I love my baby boy.

I REALLY DO!

Something was just urking me for the LONGEST time though.

He lost his two front teeth years ago and they never ever came back!!!
(I know I sound like a bad mother...sorry)

BUT....REALLY!!

I've been waiting patiently for them to come in.

I waited when Dom's (<--click on link) were gone but they filled in pretty quickly (and nicely).

**And Dominique, if I catch you making fun of this post...your pictures will be up NEXT!!!***

I waited when Miah's were gone (I have a school pic of her too) but they are in and settling into place nicely too.

I love seeing the development of my children as they grow from infant to toddler to child to young adults to full grown adults.

THAT INCLUDES TEETH!!

He's been grinning from ear to ear without them for the longest time.

I would like some variety in his school pictures.

I love my baby boy, but...HURRY UP AND GROW THOSE TEETH!!!

Here he is with his cousin.

Devyn doesn't care!
Of course, for Halloween, he made the perfect DRACULA!!

He's here with his big sister Miah at the beach with Daddy.

Chilling with his big brother right before he took off to THE CLUB (<--click on link)
With his cousin at the Ice Hockey game.

There was a point where he was losing the rest of the teeth that surrounded the front teeth. He had lost another tooth and that made three of the front teeth used to bite. It was terrible trying to watch him eat stuff. I was getting worried. He almost didn't have any teeth to eat with at all.
I sat him down and reasoned with him. I asked him if he would please grow his teeth otherwise we will have to feed him with a spoon or straw..
He laughed at me.
It doesn't matter....IT WORKED!!

He's still my handsome boy!
I can't wait to see what they look like when they all come in!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. sorry about the (click on links) not everyone is getting that.

How well did YOU sleep?

I was awaken at 3 am to the sound of my husband calling out (loudly) in his sleep...

"SPERM BANK!"

Yeah...I didn't know what that was about either.

I waited patiently until 4 (of course I went back to sleep but I wake when the alarm goes off for Angel at 4)

Me: What the heck were you dreaming about?

Angel: I was playing Jeopardy.

Me: Are you serious? Did you win?

Angel: Yeah, I won.

Me: You couldn't have won...you yelled out "SPERM BANK!"

Angel: HA HA..yeah I know..I won.

Me: YOU DIDN'T WIN! YOU DIDN'T SAY YOUR ANSWER IN THE FORM OF A QUESTION!
And...sperm bank???

He proclaimed that he had, in fact, won and that was that so he got up left the bed to get ready for work.

Angel cracks me up cause he does some funky stuff in his sleep.

He often speaks in Spanish when he talks in his sleep.

No....not the sexy seductive Spanish that you would like whispered in your ear by some handsome stud straight out of a Spanish novela...

No dears...my husband barks out orders as if he's communicating with his other hard hat buddies because he works in construction.

Sometimes he asks me where he wants me to put the pile of dirt he's carrying.

Other times he's hammering on the pillow or my head.

One time I actually woke him up cause it got a little ridiculous because he was mumbling something in bed and he..........spit.

UGHHH...I KNOW.....

HE SPIT!!!

I woke him up right then and there to point out what he was doing because I knew if I didn't wake him....I'd wake up in a puddle of spit....eeewwww.

Anyway, my night adventures are just that....adventures.

Be lucky you may just sleep with a snorer.

That reminds me of THIS POST that has to do with us in bed too......(dirty minds).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So today the kids all around Texas are taking their TAKS test.

The funny thing is...my kids aren't even phased by the testing.

I asked them if they were prepared. YUP.

I asked them if they were worried about testing. NOPE.

I never worry about Dom cause he always does well.

This is Miah's first time testing. She told me that she passed her practice tests and that she got the highest grade.

She's not worried.

I'm not worried.

Here she is this morning making herself some oatmeal. She knows that she needs a good breakfast.

I will never worry about her taking care of herself...

So I went to Mexico....

...for a root canal.

Yeah, fun...I know.

Angel and I took Devyn with us because he was the only child that was with us this weekend.

Miah and Dom stayed at my parents most of the weekend.

I didn't even get to eat or drink any alcohol like I usually do when I go.
What a BUMMER of a trip.

Whatev.
It's okay because we can always go. I would prefer to go when I don't or didn't just recently have surgery done.

Here's what you see when you cross our border into Progresso, Mexico.

This is a vehicle Angel would LOVE to take to the beach.

If we had it..I would allow it.

Of course, without the huge gun and the trigger-happy looking dude in it.
These guys were just hanging out looking like they had nothing much to do.

I prefer not to test them though.

Next weekend we are going to Corpus for a friend of mine's party. (Well, actually, I'll be going to the party with Jenn and Angel will hang out with the kids at the beach...those are ANGEL'S wishes).

My friend just passes his State Boards to be a Physical Therapist Assistant. He graduated along with me in 2007 but it's a fricken hard test.
I personally believe that it doesn't matter WHEN you achieve your goals...just that you DO achieve them.

I'm proud of him for sticking with it and not giving up on the test even though he has taken it and failed it before.

My mouth is feeling a little strange so I'm going to go put on my pajamas and crawl in the bed.

WHAT?!?
YES, I KNOW IT'S ONLY 6 PM!

I can't eat or drink anything so what better excuse do I have for "GROUP NAP"?

I have a loooong week of patients ahead of me so I need to rest...there, that's my excuse!

P.S.
I totally appreciate everyone who came to comment on my blog this weekend. I know it's hard for anyone to crawl out from under their rocks on weekends to comment but...it's been AWESOME!!
KEEP IT UP and I will do the same!!

P.P.S

Dom is continuing to write in his blog. I'M MAKING HIM!!

Got Breakfast?

Lately, when I visit my patient's houses, their family members are always trying to feed me.

I dont' know how many houses I have eaten at (no, not in one day) since I've worked with this company.

I learned from one lady that they get pretty offended if they offer you something and you turn your nose up at it.

I was informed that one nurse visits a patient that we have in common later in the evening between 6-8 pm. They are usually having dinner around this time so, when she shows and they offer her dinner, she turns them down with a look of disgust on her face (this is all told to me from the daughter of my patient).

They think she is stuck-up or grossed out by the faces she makes when they offer.

NOT ME.

I've decided that here (in Mexicanville) I won't be offending ANYONE!

So...as I've said. I've been fed numerous times.

The most common is Tamales.

Because I work at my own schedule, I prefer to start work as soon as I drop the kids off at school. This way, come 2-5 pm I'm either already finishing or finished work.
I like to have the rest of the day to myself.

So....
As I said.....

Early in the morning, the majority of my patients or my patient's families are usually eating breakfast and it's usually Tamales.

One time, my patient was cooking when I arrived.

She was making Chiliquilles
with a side of refried beans.

Now, this was one time that I wasn't able to have breakfast. This lady was tearing up her corn tortillas and cooking them in her pan, she crumbled queso fresco onto it and it looked GOOD.

The couple of things that made the decision for me about not being able to enjoy her breakfast.....

1. The amount of salsa verde she poured right over the whole thing (it was about 2 cups).
2. The amount of oil she used for her refried beans (probably about a cup).
She said she was making it for her granddaughter (who is 26 yrs old) because she was on her way over with a hangover. This was apparently her hangover remedy.
Well, I didn't have a hangover but I knew that if I ate, I would most likely have some digestion problems throughout the rest of the day. I can't afford that if I'm driving all the time.
I hope they enjoyed their breakfast.
About 3 times a week my patients are offering me food.
Yesterday I gave in and ate 2 tamales. They were so good.
Two tamales won't ruin my diet.....right?
