Promises...promises...

I know I promised a Halloween post...and it's coming...promise...(again).

Right now, I've been dead tired. I know I can't blame it on work because we all know that my work really isn't the issue. I'm tired of running around...all day, I'm tired of being on my feet...all day, and I would really like to just stay in bed and sleep....(yes, say it with me folks, all together now....)"ALL DAY".

But we know that isn't going to happen. I am able to get small cat naps here and there. I have to set my alarm to wake me up so that I don't miss the next what's next on my agenda. Which is usually coaching, picking up the kids, buying stuff (yes, unnecessary stuff) and just making sure the kids have what they need.

I just recently (yesterday) went and purchased the Xbox 360 Kinect. I don't usually buy game consoles. I let my brother Bobby give them to me cause he has an abundance (and cause he loves me...). But something told me he wasn't going to be sending one my way any time soon.

Anyway, I went to Best Buy, bought it, brought it home and stuck it in the closet.

Why the closet?

Cause I don't like to be bothered hooking anything up.

I usually let Dominique take care of all the installations.

Come to find out, it was super easy.

Hell yeah, it was super easy...cause Dom did it!

I watched the kids play and I was intrigued. They were laughing and moving and jumping around playing the game. Looked like a lot of fun.

I'll wait until the kids aren't around before I try it out.

Sure enough, today while the kids were in school and my mom was here at the house, I tried it.

Let me tell you, that game is the S-H-I-T!

I played 2 levels on just one of the games on there and I was tired and out of breath. This knocks the Wii fit and all the other games on it OUT OF THE PARK!

My legs were flying, knees bending, arms swinging all over the place, squating, jumping, turning, tired and finally...out of breath (nope, not talking about sex here).

I know this video doesn't do much justice but it's an example of how easy the game really is.

This is my mom.

She's playing the game for the very first time. She didn't realize I was behind her with the camera.

Check it out:

Yeah, she was right. I stopped filming and ran straight to my laptop and uploaded it for all the world to see.

It's honestly a good workout. I highly recommend it. I'm gonna be in shape in no time. Of course, I'll be doing this in private while the kids are at school cause Devyn mentioned how uncoordinated I was in my "old age".

Whatev....I'm about to have some BUNS OF STEEL!! (I'd settle for some less droopy boobs but I don't think this game performs miracles).

Miah had her 11th Birthday today so you know what's coming!

BIRTHDAY POST!!

I'm gonna put all that together with the Halloween post because she wants her party to be "Halloween Themed" Hey, better for me. I can keep my decorations up longer (mainly cause I'm too lazy to take them down).

She's also going to have a slumber party. This year I think there will be more girls since we invited all of the Volleyball team to sleep over (where the heck am I going to put all these bodies?).

Anyway, that's something to look forward to.

Right now, I need to take my ass to sleep. I have 3 (count them...THREE) games in the morning and then the party in the evening, Gonna be a loooooong weekend.

I can almost guarantee that this is what I will look like by the time I publish this post:

Here we go...again...

Hey Everyone...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I think I heard an echo.
.
.
.
.I definitely hear crickets.

I knew it, there isn't anyone here.
That's alright. It's my fault. I haven't been here in a long time anyway.
I'm still going to post an update anyway.

So...this is ME!
It's been awhile but I pretty much look the same!

The kids are getting much bigger and we have been super busy with sports. Devyn is currently playing flag football for his elementary school. All of the surrounding elementary schools have started getting the kids involved in sports at an earlier age.

Here's Devyn. He's pretty awesome!

My baby girl Miah!

Now, I know you never really expected to see Dom looking like THIS!
Especially with all the past posts with his PURPLE HAIR and his BLACK JACKET but check him out!

I've been keeping myself busy staying active in my kid's lives. Here I am, just call me Coach Hernandez. I now work until 2 or 2:30 each day and coach 3-5th grade girls volleyball for Miah's school. This picture only has a few of the girl on the team but now I currently have 19 girls and the school decided to make 2 teams for me.

We're at one of the scrimmage games.

This past weekend my girls had were in a tournament. We started at 11 am. We won that game and continued to win the next 5 or 6 games in a row (I lost count) and were finally defeated at the end giving us 2nd place overall in the tourney. We didn't finish until 7 PM and the girls were WORN OUT!
It was one of the best days....ever!

Here is a part of a video of one of the games. My team is on the opposite side of the net and Miah is the one serving.

ANYHOO...there's an update on our "activities".

I'm about to go outside and start putting up my halloween decorations.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!

I'm all about the free candy.

No one really knows that it's the reason I have 3 kids. I needed to increase my army of "candy getters" and attack their bags as soon as they get home and pour all the candy out on my bed.

I roll in it sometimes....

...just kidding.....

...well, maybe just a couple of rolls.

I'll be back, let me know what's going on with you guys!

PROUD MAMA!

There has been a change in our household. A change that I was hoping for but wasn't really holding out for.

I know you are all curious as to what it is...so I won't keep you in suspense.

THE CHANGE IS....

DOM (my oldest) IS ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN A SPORT!

I know what you are thinking..."WHAT?!?!...SAY IT ISN'T SO...COULD IT BE TRUE?"

Yes, people..it's true.

My big boy has voluntarily decided he wanted to join the summer track team.
(this is after seeing his sister and brother's first track practice and learned that they will be doing the pole vault)

I was pleasantly surprised when he asked me if he thinks the coach will allow him to join. The coach said YES and I got the info to fill out. Just hearing that he wanted to participate made me excited to go shopping for gear for HIM.

I've spent a lot of time shopping for Miah and Devyn for their sports gear and apparel that I felt guilty not buying Dom these same things.

WELL...NOT ANYMORE! WE WENT SHOPPING!

I took off to Academy and got him some gear. (don't get me wrong, I still had to shop for 3 kids but we came away with their necessities).

Here are a few pics (you know they were coming) of the kids at their practice.

Here are all of the kids waiting for practice to start.
Devyn has turned out to be a true runner. I know he ran cross country for his school this year and he's run in a couple of relays but running everyday is AWESOME (sure wish I could run).
He's been running along side the distance runners until he gets to his point and then he cuts across back to the track. I believe he runs for 15 mins and it's about a mile or a mile and a half.
Regardless, I don't want to be running for 15 mins non-stop.

Here is Devyn on his run. It's called the Texas Lap. I tried to follow him in the truck but he was WAAAY out there. He's in the center of the pic and the rest of the group is ahead of him. He's the only 8 yr old running this. There are two 12 yrs old boys and the rest are high school kids. The high school kids run a longer lap but he keeps up with them during his run/distance.

(if you click on the pic, you may get a better look)

This is Dom's second day and he's looking a little pooped! Poor guy. He's gonna make it though! I think he was actually feeling a little sick (common cold) so he could only run so much that day but he still participated in the exercises and running the bleachers.

Miah started crying her first time (the first day) around the track. I think she made it 1/4 of the way around and then walked most of the way. She did one lap and then came straight to me and cried. She needed encouragement to continue but she did. I told her that running takes some getting used to and she will build up her endurance as she continues. She's now on day 4 and she hasn't cried anymore and I can see the changes in her already.

I gotta tell you guys. I'm super proud. All of my kids are involved in the same sport and I get to be at one place throughout! Their first meet is this Friday! I'm anxious to see how this all turns out!

At the Movies with my girl.

Miah and I went to the movies today.

Angel had taken the boys with him to the Island to go fishing (which also included some 4-wheeling due to Devyn mentioning how "all 4 tires were off the ground, we were in the air" while Angel was trying to tell me about the fish that Dom caught).

Uh huh....

Yeah, my kids will tell on you. Don't be doing things you shouldn't. They'll come right to MOMMA!

Anyway, Miah said she wanted go see The Princess and the Frog. I told her to make a list of the snacks she wanted to take to the movies and she pointed out the exact purse I should use for the trip. That's how we roll.

She made her list, I handed her some baggies to put pickles in from our jars at home and I finished getting ready. I went online and checked for the next available showing. It starts at 4:50 and it was already 3:20 and we hadn't even left the house or stopped to get the snack. There were no showings in the theaters closer to home so we were going to have to drive a little ways.

We rushed out of the house and hit the road.

We forgot the list.

We forgot the pickles.

Miah wanted to go to Wendy's for frosties and I figured that was a good idea.

There wasn't a Wendy's close to the theaters but there was an HEB. We hit that bad boy's candy isle up and loaded up on snacks (and a couple of extra drinks just in case we run out of our drink there). We left HEB with a container of Gummie Worms, the movie sized box of NERDS, the variety pack of kit kat, some life savers sour gummies, sandwich bags (the container of gummies wouldn't fit in the purse) a sprite and a water (Miah is a water freak) and we were on our way.

We had to scratch the frostie idea because after packing my purse with every single thing we bought, the frosties weren't goint to fit. DANG!

We get to the theater and purchase the tickets. Geez, I forgot how much going to the theater cost.....cause I never go. We get inside and had told Miah we were going to buy a large bag of popcorn and some drinks. I'm looking at the menu and I'm just about to crap my pants...UGHHH. SOOOO EXPENSIVE!!

I ordered the 2 large drink and 1 large popcorn special. 16+ dollars.

I altered the order a little bit and got 1 large drink, 1 large ICEE and 1 large popcorn. 15 bucks even. Geez, good thing we got our snacks.

The movie was super cute and we enjoyed ourselves.

We got home and Angel was here with the boys and was headed to his Uncle's house. Miah wanted to go with them so that was the end of Girls Day.

I opted to stay home because that is the way I am. I'm not a fan of being out if I don't have to. I'm home in my pajamas eating leftover riblets, a salad and sipping on my Boones Farm .

Life is good.

I hope everyone is enjoying their days with their loved ones when you get a chance.

Here's a picture of Miah that I came across while I was digging up pics of my high school days.

She's a cave baby for Halloween. I had forgotten how chubby and cute she was back then.

My mother in law made the costume for her and it was adorable.

Not to mention the huge frickin bone we put in her hair!

1 good reason to hold off on driving lessons.

For some reason, every time I get into the vehicle with the kids, MIAH thinks it's a good idea to encourage me to speed. I don't know what's come over her.

Yesterday, we were at the light and she was actually almost bouncing in her seat talking about, "Oh..Go fast! Floor it! FLOOR IT! FLOOR IT!..."

Whoa!

I had to calm her down and tell her in my calmest mommy voice..."The light is RED, Miah."

But as soon as the light changed, she was all over it again.

Sooo...I accelerated...a little....more.

Which sent us flying at warp speeds of 30 mphs in a residential area (for about a block).
Of course, Miah looks at me like..What was that?

Whatev...we sped.

Since it has rained here recently, there have been large puddles of water on the ground. The first thing she says when she sees them is, "SPLASH IT!"

This is what she wants.

Now, you know that in order to get a nice good splash from the puddle you need to pick up some speed. I'm not trying to drive head on into a huge hole camo'd by water. If the puddle were in a large parking lot (say like... the Mall), I wouldn't have a problem with it because most likely there isn't a hole. BUT...since we NEVER go to the Mall and are mostly by alleys and back roads....not chancing it.

Me: No Miah, there cold be a hole in that huge puddle and I'll mess up my truck.
Miah: Awwwe!

I know, I know...I'm a huge buzzkill but still..

Now, I wouldn't be sitting here in the early AM writing this if it was as simple as that.

Nope.

Miah isn't only trying to encourage me to break the law by speeding (and occasionally splashing), she also wants me to use my 4 Runner as a battering ram. We could be riding along, innocently and one of the boys will point out something they see and Miah will instantly yell out, "RAM IT!"

Where does she get this from? I'm still blaming her dad. I don't ever recall a time growing up that I wanted my parents to ram into ANYTHING. And if I did...I certainly didn't yell it out.

She don't care. She'll sit in her seat salivating and eyeballing everything we pass and I can almost hear the echo of evil laughter in her brain.

Miah isn't picky. She wants me to RAM things or people...whatever happens to be in our line of sight. If you happen to be walking on the sidewalk anywhere around us, she will yell out "RAM EM!" and instantly you are a victim in her head.

It's a good thing I'm the driver. We might have to postpone her driving lessons until she has a clearer head or at least take her to ride some bumper cars.

I Blame Angel.....

There once was a time when I thought I was going to have a little girl who loved playing with dolls and dressing in frilly little dresses.

I was younger when I was having those thoughts. Then Angel came along and made it a reality.

Here's the deal.

Ever since Miah was a baby, I've sang her those little baby songs that my mom used to sing to me. You know, like the toady froggy one where you bounce the baby on your leg and she's all happy because of the movement?

We all have some song that you sing to babies, right?

Well, Angel would come around and modify these songs and totally screw with Miah's head.

Here's Angel...

"There was a froggy now, sitting on a loggy now, and OH how he could....JUMP MUTHAFUCKA! JUMP! JUMP MUTHAFUCKA...JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! AHHHH!!!"

Now, pair that up with the melody and visuals of a headbanging concert or a mosh pit and you have yourself a nursery rhyme all kids would love.

Which brings us to this. (click on the link, youtube wouldn't let me copy it)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEzh10_xoqw&feature=related

It was cute and all and she liked the song.

Now, there's THIS:

punk-ska covers - mxpx - barbie girl (aqua).mp3 - mxpx

Miah likes to take control of her school pictures. Especially when it's free dress picture day.

HERE IS one of her school pictures from a couple of years ago.

And, this is what she wore today for her school picture this year.

Gotta love the skulls. Thanks DAD for the introduction that has us hooked!

I Love Family.

Earlier today, my BIL called and asked if he could borrow our electric screwdriver/drill to repair something. I told him sure and let him know that Dom was at the house by himself but that Miah and Devyn were at the Boys and Girls club until 5.

I called Dom to give him a head's up and continued on with work.

I got home around 4 PM and my MIL called to let me know she was picking up Miah and Devyn from the Club. I remember mentioning to Miah this morning about her room being a mess and her clean clothes were all over the floor. The clean clothes that I just handed her to fold and put away (I don't fold the kid's clothes anymore, they have to do it). I also reminded her that she was going to have to clean the whole room when she gets home.

Shortly after she arrived home, she started playing the video game.

I called out to her, "Miah, don't you have something to do in your room?"

She replied, "Sadie already did it."

What?
Wait a minute... Now, I had totally forgotten about my BIL and the kids coming by and the whole screwdriver/drill bit and I started thinking, OH MY GOODNESS, there's probably MORE of a mess.

I went to Miah's room prepared for Armageddon and this is what I saw:

It's as if a Bandit broke in and stole the mess...

And left a note...
She even folded the clothes and put them away for Miah.

I thought that was the sweetest thing EVER!

Miah, being the sweetie that she is too, wrote a reply...

These girls are just the best cousins in the world. I hope that their relationship will continue to grow and they continue to be considerate of each other.

Miah and Sadie.

I love you girls!

I'm going to ask my sister if I can have my niece and nephew for the whole weekend.

This weekend...

Sooo...Dom's birthday came and went.
This is what he looked like on Sunday.
He got to stay up as late as he wanted to on Saturday. We had gone to Angel's Uncle's house and he was there hanging out with his cousin Brandy for most of the night.
He slept most of Sunday.

He had been asking me to dye his hair purple for a long time. We went to Hot Topic and let him buy some stuff. (My mom gave him $50 for his birthday).
Now, notice that we didn't use a bleaching kit before we did the dye. That's because me (dear old Mommy dearest) wouldn't let him do that just yet.
I was talking to the guy who was selling the stuff at Hot Topic and he said that if we put it on black hair before bleaching it that it would have a hint of purple.

DONE!

That's all I wanted anyway. I didn't want (and am not ready) to have Dom running around looking like Barney! It's just too bright for me if we use the bleaching kit.
I like it this way.
In the house, his hair looks black.
Outside, his hair has a tint of purple.

Check it out:

It's vague...but it's there.
We had just finished rinsing it out and we ended up dying the concrete patio furniture and floor purple.
This is the jacket he bought at Hot Topic. I told him that Jared might like something like that.

Angel was telling him that he needs to change his shoes because he is still wearing his skater tennis shoes and he now needs some boots........
....and skinny jeans.

Trust me....not my idea.
BUT...he still has to EARN them!
Miah also found something she wanted at Hot Topic.
Pink mesh gloves.
Looks like she's following in her brother's footsteps.
The only person NOT going the punk route is Devyn.
He's doing great in baseball.
He is hitting the ball and running the bases.
Yesterday was their first game. They finally got their uniforms.
Their team is the Astros.
They are so cute.
Here's Devyn after his team got their 3rd strike and they were switching sides. He was just getting ready to go up to bat.

This is him after he ran in and made a run.
He's sooo cool.
They won their first game 7-1.
He has a couple more games this week.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
GUESS WHAT!!!
Tomorrow my brother comes to visit.
Are we ready?
Pretty much. I already am seeing some of my patients that I would normally see on Thursday and Friday. I will only have about 1 or 2 patients on those day when they come. (Recently, I have only had about 1 or 2 patients a day).
Anyway..time to get the kids off to school!!

A small confession and .....IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I have a confession to make.....

My underwear don't fit me anymore!!!

That's right, I said it.

And NO...It's not what I yell out to Angel when I want to have sex.

My granny-panties aren't choking my nether regions anymore.

I know this is what you really wanted to wake up and here but that's "OK". You won't be the only ones to know this astounding news.
I will be spreading the good cheer to all who are withing hearing distance. Which will be EVERYONE on the highways and EVERYONE at my office (lucky them).

For those who have been reading along for quite some time, you know it's because of my recent weight loss.

This weeks weigh-in brings us to:

Current weight: 168.8
Starting weight: 185

That's a grand total of 16.2 lbs lost.

Of course, it's been fluctuating but I'm still working on it.
I may be stuck at this weight but I'd rather be stuck at this one than still trying to squeeze my ass in my granny panties.
YAY!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, these are random pictures that I threw in of Angel and Miah. She was sick and he got home from work and went to lay with her for a bit in this one.

Here's one of them while we were waiting to get our taxes done (or something like that).

I'm a sucker for Angel-Miah pictures!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALRIGHT! Now to the point of this post.

DEVYN.

I love my baby boy.

I REALLY DO!

Something was just urking me for the LONGEST time though.

He lost his two front teeth years ago and they never ever came back!!!
(I know I sound like a bad mother...sorry)

BUT....REALLY!!

I've been waiting patiently for them to come in.

I waited when Dom's (<--click on link) were gone but they filled in pretty quickly (and nicely).

**And Dominique, if I catch you making fun of this post...your pictures will be up NEXT!!!***

I waited when Miah's were gone (I have a school pic of her too) but they are in and settling into place nicely too.

I love seeing the development of my children as they grow from infant to toddler to child to young adults to full grown adults.

THAT INCLUDES TEETH!!

He's been grinning from ear to ear without them for the longest time.

I would like some variety in his school pictures.

I love my baby boy, but...HURRY UP AND GROW THOSE TEETH!!!

Here he is with his cousin.

Devyn doesn't care!
Of course, for Halloween, he made the perfect DRACULA!!

He's here with his big sister Miah at the beach with Daddy.

Chilling with his big brother right before he took off to THE CLUB (<--click on link)
With his cousin at the Ice Hockey game.

There was a point where he was losing the rest of the teeth that surrounded the front teeth. He had lost another tooth and that made three of the front teeth used to bite. It was terrible trying to watch him eat stuff. I was getting worried. He almost didn't have any teeth to eat with at all.
I sat him down and reasoned with him. I asked him if he would please grow his teeth otherwise we will have to feed him with a spoon or straw..
He laughed at me.
It doesn't matter....IT WORKED!!

He's still my handsome boy!
I can't wait to see what they look like when they all come in!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. sorry about the (click on links) not everyone is getting that.
