I Love Family.

Earlier today, my BIL called and asked if he could borrow our electric screwdriver/drill to repair something. I told him sure and let him know that Dom was at the house by himself but that Miah and Devyn were at the Boys and Girls club until 5.

I called Dom to give him a head's up and continued on with work.

I got home around 4 PM and my MIL called to let me know she was picking up Miah and Devyn from the Club. I remember mentioning to Miah this morning about her room being a mess and her clean clothes were all over the floor. The clean clothes that I just handed her to fold and put away (I don't fold the kid's clothes anymore, they have to do it). I also reminded her that she was going to have to clean the whole room when she gets home.

Shortly after she arrived home, she started playing the video game.

I called out to her, "Miah, don't you have something to do in your room?"

She replied, "Sadie already did it."

What?
Wait a minute... Now, I had totally forgotten about my BIL and the kids coming by and the whole screwdriver/drill bit and I started thinking, OH MY GOODNESS, there's probably MORE of a mess.

I went to Miah's room prepared for Armageddon and this is what I saw:

It's as if a Bandit broke in and stole the mess...

And left a note...
She even folded the clothes and put them away for Miah.

I thought that was the sweetest thing EVER!

Miah, being the sweetie that she is too, wrote a reply...

These girls are just the best cousins in the world. I hope that their relationship will continue to grow and they continue to be considerate of each other.

Miah and Sadie.

I love you girls!

I'm going to ask my sister if I can have my niece and nephew for the whole weekend.

The weekend was HELLA long!!

Ok. First...

I have tons of pics so this post might be pretty long....Sorry.

I'm already tired of celebrating.

Friday:
There was a little unnecessary drama because my best friend Jenn was here this weekend and we all know how my sister is about her. (well, maybe you don't but HERE is an idea of what would have happened...again).

It got worked out (almost) but then it was just blowing up and getting out of control.

She was threatening not to come to Dom's party on Saturday but that really got the rest of the family a little upset.

She came. Jenn was here. There was mild tension but we got through the day.

Saturday:

We had Dom's party early Saturday. Unfortunately, none of the friends he invited showed up. That's ok. He had all of his family there. It was great. He got a couple of new shirts and some money.

Here is my sister with my nephew, my mom, my dad, my brother with my niece and Devyn

Here I am with Jenn and my SIL. Lord knows what we were laughing about!!
Here I am with Miah.

And me again with the Birthday Boy!

One thing that kept happening that had us cracking up all night.......people kept getting locked in the bathroom (see, I said "bathroom" instead of "restroom" ACE!!) . I don't know what was going on. You just have to turn the knob to the right after you unlock it but everyone seems to want to turn it to the left. We were kind of cruel about it too. We would wait until people went in and time them to see how long it took them to finally get out. We counted 5 minutes after we heard the first doorknob rattle when someone was trying to get out....hee hee.

Of course, this was AFTER we found out that people were getting stuck in the bathroom.

Then after everyone left my brother decided to play a joke of his own on his wife.

The kids stayed up late. I believe Devyn crashed out on the couch. Dom made it back to his bed. Miah was in hers. Everyone had a good time.

Sunday:

We all got up early to take all of the kids to the beach. They had their easter there. It was sooo much fun. It was a beautiful day. The kids had a wonderful time spending it with all of their cousins.

Dom with his basket. He put the pineapple in there (He and I love the TV series PSYCH).

My nephew, Aiden.

The girls!!

My niece!

All of the kids with their baskets!
Monday:

The kids still didn't have school so we all just chilled at home. It was a busy weekend and we were all pooped.
Then we find out it was my husband's grandfather's birthday so we went to my uncle's house to have a little celebration there too.
WHEW.............

Devyn had a game again and this time he hit a home-run and brought in two other runners. My brother didn't get to see this game but it was definitely the best one yet. Devyn is getting so much better at these sports. We're loving it. Even at the end of the night, Devyn told me, "I had a great game."

They won the game 16-9
Yeah, he did.

Today, I was supposed to be working but the ONE patient I have today is out of town so I'm off the hook. We are going to celebrate my niece's 2 yr. old birthday AND my brother and SIL's anniversary.

SEE...the partying isn't even over yet!!

Tomorrow and Thursday, my brother and SIL and I will be going to New Braunfels to visit some of our friends from high school AND scope out a potential residence because they will be moving here to Texas in about 4 years.

Devyn has another game on Thursday.

Friday, my brother and SIL will be heading back to New York and life as we know it will be returned to normal (or as normal as it originally was).

I hope everyone had a great Easter!!

Been Busy! Just like you guys!

A lot has been going on (I know everyone is busy so everyone is excused for not posting as often as they would have liked to....everyone except those getting paid for posting...hee hee).

Anyway, I have been dealing with the kids, family and working.

WORK:

One of the Physical Therapists (PTs) that worked for the company on an "as needed" basis decided he didn't want to be needed by the company anymore so now we are down to 2 PTs. Both of them are working with the company on an "as needed" basis too. They are also working with other companies as needed so they are pretty busy.

This means that I will be getting my patient load from these 2 PTs only if they have time to accept patient evaluations from my company.

This means that I have just dropped my patient load from 6-8 patients a day to 4 patients a day (which is what I have now). I also looked at my schedule for next week and on Tuesday and Thursday I only have 1 patient.

I have to say. At a time like this...it's a good thing I'm salary.

KIDS:

Devyn just finished his soccer league. We lost everyone of our games, except the one where the other team was a no-show. Whatever. The kids have fun and he is getting better in the sport.

Angel has done half of the Christmas shopping in Corpus and I did the other half here.

Dom was told that if he completes another packet in Science and gets a grade of 90 or above, then he doesn't have to complete any more science packets (he still has 4 more packets to complete). If he does that with all of the subjects then he will automatically be passed onto the 9th grade.

He's excited and I think that is what he is going for.

FAMILY:

I have been trying SO hard to get my sister to be open to doing things more as a family. She has issues and likes to put the blame on everyone else. In case you missed it, THIS is what happened one time when she decided to put her issues first.

The last time we (her boyfriend, her and myself) decided to have a BBQ on a Saturday. Her kids had just stayed the night with mine that Friday. I figured all she had to do was come on over.

Well when I called and asked her about coming over on Saturday, she said "ohhh, I don't think we are going to go after all."

WHAT?!?

Come-on now.

For Real?

You don't want to spend a Saturday with your family even though you are STILL complaining that we don't do anything AS a family?

She did manage to come over and get her kids though.

Whatever chick.

SOOO...people. Here's my last ditch effort:

Devyn and Miah are going to be playing basketball. Just like I wanted to do with soccer (have my sister's kids come and play on the same teams and I would pay their registration fees) I want them to come and play on the same basketball teams (of course I offered to pay their fees, again).

I talked to the coach who is in charge of the whole program and he said we could get basketball underway if he can round up enough coaches (he had a little bit of a hard time getting coaches for soccer).

This is when I told him that maybe we could help him with that. I asked him how much experience he needed and he started saying "some" but ended up saying "none".

PERFECT!

I played basketball in high school and well...that's all.

I proposed the idea to my sister and explained that she and I could coach the girls team and her boyfriend could coach the boys team with our boys and Dom could be the assistant coach for him.

She's excited about the idea. Maybe this time we will be able to do something together as a family cause this shit is killing me.

Her and her boyfriend argue A LOT and she lets that get in the way of everything she needs (or promised) she would do. I told her that she needs to put her personal issues aside when it comes to the kids. Lets see how that goes.

I'm thinking about buying us all some whistles to help them stay motivated.

What do you think?

-----------------------------------------------------------

So, guess what my friends! I'm sure you all are seeing the gas prices still dropping.

Here's what we have now down here:

P.S. Dom has a new post up. Check it out HERE.

Now that he's not grounded and has a ton of free time with no school work. I will have him posting more frequently again.
